Orient fans are totally split

Post by ComeOnYouOs »

Unless the fans are all singing from the same hymn sheet, we wont get success, and we are split at the moment
Seems to be two camps.....those who think Ling/Embleton are not what is required, and then theres the give Ross a chance camp
I wasnt at the game today, but there was it seems, a good few Orient fans arguing amongst themselves, something that is happening more and more.
The atmosphere is toxic at the moment, and I have no idea when it will end
Do others feel this too?

100%. Saying it on other threads atm.

The fanbase is split. I cant see us being successful if it continues.

Was interesting, after Fletcher got the boot, Ling said they need to reconsider the hiring process and get more peoples opinions to make sure they are the right 'fit'...

A new manager or Ling being removed is the only thing that would make me buy a season ticket next year. (or if we signed Messi...or Cox). Maybe I'm part of the problem, but thats the reality.

It would seem the fans are divided. I’m not hearing it in the north stand to be fair other than the odd bloke shouting out. People are scared of losing what Justin built and was building and that’s the biggest worry amongst the fan bass as I see it.

Throwing your toys out the pram.

Why do you hate them so much? I find them honest, open and likeable.

I can only think that some people are still grieving.

I don’t hate anyone. I just don’t think they are good at their jobs.

I’m have the same opinion of some people I work with that aren’t good at their jobs. Doesn’t mean I hate them or they are bad people.

This is nonsense.

The fans will be ‘united’ as soon as we’re successful again. That’s all there is to it.

Recent turnaround in form not convinced you? So you won't come next season because you think we'll be rubbish? Tell me how you became an orient fan?

I never did and still don’t think Embleton is up to the job. Just my opinion. In a results business he just isn’t delivering.

I literally said why I’m not getting a ST and it’s nothing to do with winning or losing. The football is turgid. I don’t agree with decisions being made so I’m voting with my feet. It won’t do much, and I’ll still go to some games but I have better things to do with my time and money when we have such obvious holes and the football is non league standard.

Let’s face it, whether you say it on here or not, 99% of orient fans know that Ross isn’t gonna be a good manager for us. So either make a stand and hope that theirs positive change, or wait 1-2 years until he gets the boot and we’ve wasted all that time.

And the ‘turnaround’ is a mirage because we aren’t as sh*t as a few teams in this league, who we’ve happened to play in a short period of time.

Michael Duff took over Cheltenham last season and they finished 16th. Look at them now.

Maybe we should give Ross a chance into next season before we judge him.

Because his tactics are negative and produce boring football that reinforces the "little Leyton Orient" stereotype where we're scared of other clubs. Even in his interviews phrases like "don't give anything away" are heard far more often than going out to attack and be positive or impose ourselves.

Because there's some very strange closed shop going on with Ling protecting Embleton at all costs and certain players holding power over the playing side. Look how much we've seemingly paid out in NDAs to sacked staff this season for evidence of something being very wrong there.

Because the club now misleads fans on a regular basis and puts Alastair Campbell to shame with the spin it puts on social media.

It seems if you dare to demand that Orient go for success on field as first priority rather than keeping Embleton & Ling happy you're some kind of heretic. Teague seems to have a bit more fire in his belly but alas isn't here often enough or I suspect you'd see a more ruthless approach.

Half a dozen or so Old whinge bags is hardly
proof of a split .

It proves that the old f*ckers on here love an argument.

Shame most of them are sh*t at it though.
I quite like a decent heated discussion

It must be league standard seeing as we are in the league and not bottom. We've actually played some nice passing stuff and keeping possession lately.

I've no time for your made up stats. He's had one window to fix the holes and the additions have resulted in some improved results.

I'm not in a hurry, we were in this league when I started supporting orient, it's kind of our level.

You obviously have a personal dislike of ML and RE. You had no problems with the Italians though.

You want our squad that is in transition from the national league to use gung ho tactics? Recent form is good.

Making success a priority doesn't even make sense and I don't know why that'd mean not keeping ling and re.

Maybe he is following how JE ran the campaign for the last month or so in the
National league.
Keep your defence tight if they dont score aginst us they dont win.
Unfortunately some of our defending across the.whole 11 has not been good enough
to stop bettter league teams scoring

Our last 3 opponents before today were bottom feeders, not sure how that’s made up.Talking of made up stats. I didn’t have a problem with the Italians?

It is our level-ish. Again, I went to see us relegated twice in 3 seasons, went to about 35 games in our first NL season. It’s nothing to do with the level. It’s disagreements with how our club is being run.

As the opening post suggests, this illustrates the split.

Exactly, you attended games when people like Angeleri and *insert

Completely different scenario and reasons for going.

At that time we were on the verge of losing our club and had to be heard to make a stand against the regime. I felt it was my duty to keep going to protest. I’m not gonna run on the pitch at the end of this season with a poster saying Ling out.

And my life and priorities have changed a lot these days.

I still support the club and will do, passionately, til the day i die (unfortunately)

I’m not in a faction but I do honestly believe that Embleford is a poor choice of manager and that he won’t succeed in improving the team.

On championship manager 01/02 Michael Duff is an absolute legend!!! One of the best players in the game and a must have in your side. I’ve always followed him since then in a kind what happens next scenario. Looks like he’s becoming legend as a manager as well as a player for Cheltenham. Good luck to him.

I think you've hit the nail on the head . People don't want to see what Justin built undone . I would include myself in that but now we're pretty much safe from relegation I now feel much more relaxed . I think given time Ross could prove to be the right manager for us but he has to sort out his best formation and his in game tactics . I think the effort is there and the players want to play for him but he's still not getting the best out of them .Yes, he's currently making mistakes but I would rather he got them out of the way this season and be more experienced for next season.

I will still go to matches but Embleford’s lack of nous will continue to lead to inept tactics and mogadon football, which I would prefer not to have to endure

As I said from day one Ross will keep us ticking Along but I do not feel he is the man to make us climb the leagues .
If we are mid table this time next season, with a few wins, lots of draws and equal defeats to wins, would any fan be happy with that? I think many would but probably most would not see that as progression.

Worries me when the boss says he’s aim in the remainder of the season is to stop conceding goals , not to Create more chances and score more goals , says a lot !
