Can't see us getting to keep him. You want to play him at CB, he's 3 feet tall!RicketyCricket wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 11:44 pm Thought Clay was quite a bit better on the ball today. Haven't been his biggest fan this season but he's stepped it up recently I think, maybe because of Cisse's introduction, his composure and strength in the middle has made a massive difference.
Still lack a player who makes himself available for the ball from the defence, lost count the number of times Happe and Coulson passed it between themselves with no option going forward.
All for keeping Marsh for next year also, could be first-choice at RB or at CB.

Re: Ratings
It is obvious , results wise , that we are a far better team with Brophy and Marsh as full backs. Check the results . I don’t want to see Judd , Ling , or Widdowson back anytime soon. Why do people want to see players back who cost us goals game after game. This current defensive lineup is more solid , more attacking , and providing results. Marsh and Brophy are more influential now in full back roles than they ever were in midfield

It was classic Wright - cultured drivel

I’d argue the minor upturn in performance and results is more to do with Vigaro, Cisse and Ruel coming into the side but what do I know...George wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 8:38 am It is obvious , results wise , that we are a far better team with Brophy and Marsh as full backs. I’m not for keeping Marsh next season as a right back, we already have Judd and Ling in that position. But to suggest playing him at centre half is a stroke of genius.RicketyCricket wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 11:44 pm Thought Clay was quite a bit better on the ball today. Re: Ratings
Vigouroux - 7 - Good save in the first half, hasn't really had a busy game yet
Brophy - 7 - 32 was tasked with pinning him back and they had obviously planned for this, he played well, scares me at points though
Happe - 5 - Not with
Coulson - 6 - Apart from winning headers, looks slow and heavy-footed
Marsh - 6- Best Rb at the club
Cisse - 7- At fault for the goal by looks of it, but is a class above when he gets the ball, so cool, calm, collected, great in the air, need one or two more players of this class
Clay - 6 - Worked hard, not much to say
Dayton - 5 - Should be let go in the summer, not of the required quality to be staring
Johnson - 5- Second touch is a tackle, looks a worker but no real quality
Angol - 5 - Nice touches, constantly looking for fouls, ultimately does nothing though, useless to me, Sotirou has more goals in 8 goals and thats without penalties, it's a myth players can't score in this side(okay it's not great but still)
Wilkinson - 7 - Some brilliant runs and skills, just a shame no end product, surely a goal or assist is coming and it is all going to click
JMD - 7 - Setup the second goal, has to start, main creative outlet, will always setup a couple of decent balls a match, that's without free-kick, corners etc
Wright - 6 - Didn't really have much say in it

Re: Ratings
I can only think that @RicketyCricket made a typo and really meant to write that Marsh could be a candidate to play at Right Back or Central Midfield if kept for next season. As you correctly state, young Marsh is too short in stature to be considered as a regular in the Centre Back position.jamespevans wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 7:49 amCan't see us getting to keep him. You're not paying attention if you think I said they are poor full backs (e.g. "Brophy - 7 - yet again our best defender"). Our problem continues to be our midfield and taking Marsh out of it has made it worse.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 9:20 amYoure not paying attention if you think they are poor at fullback.jamespevans wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 7:45 amBeen to 10 games this season and watched every other via the stream. Re: Ratings
You said Ross is a 'bad manager' because he plays people out of position, but they are performing very well in their new positions, so well that they are now arguably first choice in those positions and we are getting results. How is that bad management?

Re: Ratings
Who the hell performed 'very well' last night? Or in recent games?
We're better than we were but let's calm down a bit, eh.

Good point . Definitely more solid defensively. I’m sure Ross will use his common sense and keep them as full backsGeorge wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 8:38 am It is obvious , results wise , that we are a far better team with Brophy and Marsh as full backs. I’m certain Ross will ensure the DoF’s decisions are carried out, regardless of the current improvements in the line-up.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 10:25 amGood point . Re: Ratings
Marsh operates well at RB - not sure about the love in with Cissé - appears ponderous and slow of thought...fits in well - team performance in last 2 games poor - odd flashes but better teams will profit if similar levels are maintained. You can put lipstick on a pig ...but it's still a pig
