Just watched their goal back and yeah, he’s blatantly level - it’s just that he accelerated away leaving Josh standing still.

Certainly close, where’s VAR when you need it.
Should Johnson have put that one away right at the end ??
If the chance had fallen to Ruel, would more likely to have been on target, should Johnson have put it away, well a better forward would have least got it on target most times if given that chance. As to the goal they scored, did not look offside to me when viewed in slow-motion replays and remember that even if a forward is level with the 2nd last opposition player between him and the goal, he is still classed as being onside.
Ruel had a clear chance earlier when he was put clean through 1 on 1.
From experience I know that when on one to one with the keeper is often harder to score than when you shoot when on the run or ball comes to you quickly in and around the penalty area. When you have time, the mind plays tricks on you, too much time to think. Ruel has missed a few penalties for the Os and Dover, same thing. For myself, I was useless at penalties but give me the ball to my feet when its in and around the penalty area and little to no time to think, then more than often, a quick shot on target and 75% of the time, a goal scored. Same goes for one on one to the keeper, I often did not score. When later on I ran teams, then trained a forward of mine to think coolly and taught him to chip the ball over the oncoming keeper, either that or push it play the ball well wide of the keeper ( unlike me, he was very quick, once on a run and through a defence, then defenders could not catch him ) then run onto the ball and shoot for goal, rehearsed this many times in training and this practice transformed his game and he scored a lot of goals after when in one to one with the keeper. For Ruel, perhaps more master class training from Jobi on getting better in one to one with the keeper situations. Many forwards find it hard to score in the one to one with the keeper scenario.
