He has not been castigated at all by those who matter, for making this terrible signing.
My number one criticism of him, has been he has no idea of who is a good player and who isn't. When it occasionally turns out right, it's a fluke.
While he is DOF at #ourclub , we will never really have success
We won our first League Title for 49 years under players he signed, so you're telling me this doesn't constitue as success?

You can't turn around and call his good signings a fluke with no praise and then turn around and say that any of the ones that turn out poor are 100% his fault - So he can only take the flack for things that don't turn out to be correct, thats proper double standards.

I'm all for constructive criticism of Ling, but ComeOnYouOs this just comes across as double standards depending on what happens, Ling deserves as much credit for the signings that were made in this January window, as much as he deserves criticism in your eyes for the signing of James Alabi.
Good Post Big Shot. No one is immune to criticism, but there are certain boarders. Wumble, COYOs etc who are just too eager to have a pop.

Anyone who thinks Alabi was the worse orient player ever obviously never saw michael marks, the worse professional footballer I’ve seen anywhere.

Alabi scored, what, 3 goals or something? In 2 years, at the lowest level Orient have ever played at.

And one of those years we were champions, so it wasn't like we were a struggling team. Granted he didnt play every game, but i reckon I could have got 2 goals off my arse that season.

I love how Wumble thinks it’s so easy to play professional football

Good luck to the bloke. Based on Jobi's comments, he clearly made a very positive contribution behind the scenes, which may have been invaluable.

However he is paid to play football, and appeared to fall short both at NL,and L2, level, despite scuffing one in at Grimsby.

Hard to compare with Parkin/Scowcroft, as they were both in League One, whilst most Alabi's games were 2 Leagues lower. Probably Conference South is his level.

Michael Marks got injured while warming up running up and down the touchline and run straight into a player warming up and running the other way

couldn't make it up

One of the worst 'players Ive ever seen at Orient in 53 years. He cant even control a ball.
In 50 years I’ve seen far worse and I’ll start with Gordon Riddick and Sam Parkin. I like a trier and Alabi tried.
Michael Marks and Barry Fry - ouch
