Why The Unhealthy Interest
in West Ham on an Orient message board? Could it be some of the O's " fans " are not 100% interested in the Orient? I find it strange that some on here encourage these interlopers. Time to move methinks.

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
People are permitted to have interests in things other than Orient and to take an interest in what is happening elsewhere in football

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
Over on KUMB they have an Orient thread running to hundreds of posts. Are they ‘obsessed’ with us, or just taking a mild interest in another football club in their locality?

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
Indeed. Especially when it's our nearest neighbours, who play in a taxpayer-subsidised athletics stadium, whose supporters may feel more inclined to pop over now and again to Brisbane Road and watch some football nearer the pitch.

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
I personally never understood why orient fans dont like hammers fans. If I didn't support orient I guess I'd have been a hammer, being a true eastender.

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
Unfortunately there are not many of you/us left - and that's why I don't understand as well. WHU don't threaten our attendance level or support base these days. If a kid grows up in Barking, he's almost as likely to support a more successful PL team than West Ham. Kids footballing idols can be seen very regularly these days on all types of media platforms. If they are going to support the O's then its likely to be because of a better match day experience - which is why we do kids for a quid, etc.
I'd rather WHU win a cup than, say, Everton.
Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
I'm not sure why a passing interest in other football clubs is seen as unhealthy. As an O's supporter, I don't support any other clubs, but that doesn't mean I'm not interested in how they are doing.
Personally I have nothing against West Ham or their supporters. They are not our local rivals because we have rarely been in the same league, in fact in the 50-odd years that I've been supporting the Os, I can't remember a league game against them. I bet someone will now show that this is not true! I do, however, have a problem with their owners and the fact that as taxpayer I'm subsidising their use of the Olympic Stadium.

Thanks LeytonOstone, I stand corrected.
I thought we were relegated in 1980, but I could be wrong.

The condescending attitude of many a spammer
of little leyton orient , we will come & protect you .
The spammers who i knew, who would go to both games would come to Brisbane road wearing Spam colours.
As for the we're both East end clubs argument,
Its good that we should follow the friendly example set by other London Neighbours in North London,
Notably the Spuds & the Arse.
LONG LIVE NEIGHBOURLY FRIENDSHIP.

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
Great memories of playing them on boxing day in 1978 and beating them 0-2 at Upton park, chiedozie and Mayo scoring in front of about 29000
and of course the Fa cup match in 1987 when Stevie castle scored the last minute penalty. The referee blew for the penalty and every Os player walked away except for the youngest player on the pitch - what a penalty they dont come back
Used to get the piss taken out of me for supporting the os but not so much now
I wonder why , conned into playing in a antiseptic museum, with no atmosphere, Dreadful views of the pitch but that might be a good thing, longing to return to upton park but its gone, and always talking about the old players but then again that a bit like me
No need for unhealthy interest
we are the Os

Someone said on here bonne was the hardest working forward we've ever had. Mayo put in a shift every single game and at a higher level than Bonne did for us.

Slightly different scenarios tuffers. Us and the hammers are local to the east end, neither one invading anothers area.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:00 pm The condescending attitude of many a spammer

Woolwich meanwhile moved to the same area as spurs were, so I guess that's a massive reason for the hatred between both sets of fans.

Arsenal moved 107 (1913) years ago .
I think they can claim to be A North London Club

Oh tuffers so it's ok for woolwich to move areas and change their name, but it's not ok for Wimbledon to move a similar way and change their name?
Ok then.

Re: Why The Unhealthy Interest
Woolwich are a south london club and should have stayed there.
Mk Don's have been slaughtered for doing the same thing.
How about southend moving into the borough or on our doorstep, is that ok?

What ?
Still at least they were pretty much always
Football Clubs .
I suppose you are going to say Next that The Glynn cricket Club, should have just stayed as a Cricket Club instead of moving in on Tottenham Hotspur & others roles of being a London Football club.
Thory boy give it up lad
