Has played for about 8 clubs in 8 years . Was OK for us but nothing special , although that was at League One level. I'd be 50/50 with this signing .

Very randomly was thinking of Adam Chicksen at Saturday’s game. Personally think he’d be more than adequate at this level.

Although Brophy had a top game on Sat, he’s basically our most dangerous player going forward and from memory, Chicksen likes getting forward as well. If it frees us up to play Brophy in a more advanced position, I’m happy with tha.

Don’t think Brophy’s best position is on the wing. He was terrible there before going to fullback. Doesn’t contribute enough or for give 90 minutes upfront.
He’s been acceptable in defence. Better going forward from the back and has given 90 minute performances

Agree, he's solid defensively, not much going forward but if you've got Brophy in front he doesn't need to attack that much. Definitely missed him with the lack of any natural replacement.

I would respectfully suggest that you are easily pleased. Widdowson is spectacularly limited and occasionally a liability due to his tendency to allow opposition players to run off his inside shoulder. He’s one of a number of last year’s title winners who should be plying his trade in non-league again come the end of his contract (cf. Clay, Coulson, Ling, Judd, Harrold, Gorman, Alabi, Dayton and Brill [before he retired]).

Agree Widdowson has been injury prone all season and has not had anybody to push him for that position even when fit.I think it is time to replace him and allow Brophy to play in his rightful position. Chickson May be the answer.

I reckon he's better than what we have got at present. Has spent his entire career in League One (the only time he dropped into League Two was with us).

Wonder why he has not settled at any club but he has signed for some right basket-cases of clubs.

From what I recall he covers both full-back positions, and also would allow a return to 4-4-2.

If everything else falls through, a deal to the end of the season would be better than nothing. We need full-backs.
