Richard Cadette
Just uploaded his final league goals for the club....
He scored a week or so later against West Brom in the FA Cup but didn't score again for the Orient.
Anyone here see him play in the flesh?

Re: Richard Cadette
Yes
Another in the youth assembly line that we produced.
Not quite as good as Laurie Cunningham.
Sold to Sarfend if I remember rightly.

Re: Richard Cadette
He never came through the youth set up. We signed him from Wembley, he was a real live wire but no where near the class of Cunningham, Barry Silkman engineered his move to Southend and he completely tore us apart in the 5-1 at Roots Hall. Should have had a better career than he did.

Re: Richard Cadette
Not a good night, think we went there top, Friday night if memory serves.
Know we ended up in a pub near Southend Central station and it had a jukebox
Every other play seemed to be Dire Straits Money For Nothing

Re: Richard Cadette
Loved the West Brom Goal, he was stretching & volleyed into the ground & the
bounce took it over Goddens head .
Think he picked up a knee injury & lost loads of pace.

Re: Richard Cadette
Silkman persuaded him to go to Sarfend. He looked lively in his debut away to Brentford. We had the Hummel kit which at the time no one had heard of. Lots of energy & a favourite of mine. Played in Scotland for a while. He was very good against us in the 5 1

Didn’t see the goal as every other bugger in the West stood up!
Remember seeing Silkman sh*t out and fluff the pen, tho.

Re: Richard Cadette
First saw Cadette play in a pre-season friendly away against Leytonstone. Although he didn't score he looked very useful.

Yes , I've seen him play for us load of times . I can remember him scoring against West Bromwich one season and cheering while surrounded by West Bromwich fans in the old West Stand . My brother and I got some right nasty looks . I think we got away with it because at the time we were only in our early teens, so quite young .

Re: Richard Cadette
Barry Silkman became his agent and engineered both of there moves to Sarfend, left a bad taste in my mouth, still does after all this time. Must admit lost interest in him when he left and got no idea what happened to him, still don'taylesburyos wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 9:17 am Silkman persuaded him to go to Sarfend. Re: Richard Cadette
After Southend he signed for Sheffield Utd , also went to Brentford and Falkirk. I believe he had spells on loan with Milwall and Bournemouth. He was most successful at Southend where he had a 50 % score to appearance ratio.
Dangerous little player - shame we lost him when we did. Sarfend got the best from him. Went into lower league management at the end of his career.
