Another job for the boys. What a brilliant contract extension it was.

I wish the bloke luck but we already have a GK coach (who's apparently well thought of) and about 3-4 other inexperienced coaches. I'd rather the money was spent on the wages of a creative midfielder or an experienced number two to tell Ross how to manage.

Yet another job for the boys and a drain on the clubs budget, when will the owners learn ?

He was great last year and one of Justin's best decisions to put him in.
Good luck Brillo

Got to agree! If the talk of an “ experienced assistant” coming in as well is right ,this is in danger of getting out of hand!

He could always have just sat out his contract.

Sarge and Viggy are gonna be the best coached keepers in the lower leagues....when was the last time a keeper had two coaches to warm him up before a match?

In all seriousness I'd expect Reece Ottley to be off....seems like he employed by Southend as well anyway.

Brill goes back to being Os GK coach
The role he was in before Ottley was appointed.

If you concentrated on just Leyton Orient
You would know this

Gutted for him as we never really got to see last season's Brill in L2, seemed to be struggling right from pre-season onwards. Injuries caught up with him in the end so not entirely surprised at this news after what seemed like a pretty bad strain.

Made all the difference to us both settling the defence when we were all over the shop then being a solid barrier to anything coming at him last season - massive impact on winning the title which he can be very proud of.

Agreed. He played a vital role last year and for that we should thank him. Good luck with the retirement.

Also think he could see that Sarge was now his match in many regards. Sarge's kicking may always be an issue (it never stopped Glenn Morris) but most of his other aspects are every bit as good as Brill's. Pity it took an injury to discover it, as the contract extension has made it costly.

Sargeant's positioning and organising the defence still leaves a lot to be desired at times, hopefully Brill can focus on imparting that knowledge now so we end up with real competition for that spot.

Dean Brill has been a very good keeper for this club. His record last season will go down in history I suspect for a very long time as I dont see the clean sheet record being bettered anytime soon.

His attitude was first class and from what Justin used to say in interviews his influence in the dressing room was massive. I suspect he will in time turn out to be a very good coach, you only need to listen to him in a match to know about his organisation skills. He was a proper professional and helped the team with his skills, ability and presence.

I'm pleased he remains in the club as good people are vital in any business.

In respect to Apple wumbles comment about his contract he would have either had a clause inserted if he were to retire or some such like event to cover off the difference between a keeper contract and a player contract. Still whatever he was able to negotiate, good on him.

Dean I wish you well in your retirement and I hope you enjoy much success in your coaching career. Thanks for what you did in goal for this club and I'm pleased you have a winners medal to your name.

It was a Master stroke from Justin to promote Brill from GK Coach to First Team Keeper and I believe he was key to us getting promoted last year.
Well Done Deano and I wish you good luck for the future.

We do seem to have more chiefs than Indians in the club at the moment.

Just told my 6 year old that Brill won’t be playing anymore. They asked is it because he’s too fat?

Brutal.

From what’s said above one seems to be part time and also works with Southend?

Probably not. But the club have said he has joined the coaching staff, not that he is the goalkeeping coach.
