Not sure if it was paul or Steve who spoke about Ogie being given an opportunity and on his follow up comments on playing players in their natural positions I couldn’t agree more with what was said.

They don’t believe that akinde will be signing for us. They also feel that an assistant manager will be incoming who is an experienced number 2.

Condemned by faint praise.
There can be nothing worser for a D-Jock in the podradiobroadcast world to experience. Especially so soon after getting binned from another illustrious volunteer "job".

I must say, I'm impressed by the amount of criticism the club has received on here over the last few weeks for:
- things that haven't actually happened;
- things where there's no evidence they were ever going to happen;
- not doing one of the infinite number of things it could, in theory, do to make things better.

It doesnt matter if it is made up - you're happy to believe anything if it means you can take another dig at the club.PoundhillO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 2:15 pmOh that’s great an experienced number 2, it’s a f*cking experienced Manager that is needed, you couldn’t make this up !!!

Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Thurs 23rd January
Damn us all for wanting our club, in freewill, to do things that would make us better. Silly idiots.
Re: Recording of The Orient Hour Thurs 23rd January
The assistant manager thing makes a lot of sense.... said a few times before it just looks the side are playing like there isn't enough coaching ability in the backroom. Being so disorganised in defence goes a bit further than players not being good enough, a good manager could make a reasonably solid defence out of average players.
Newport have conceded under half the goals we have this season, for instance.
Out of the previous applicants for the job I'd reckon Wally Downes would be a good fit, out of favour after betting offences and would accept the limitations.
It seems like a crazy attempt to save face, but we might end up with a manager who really wants to be assistant, and an assistant that really wants to be manager.
I personally think there is only so long we can wait, if Ross does not get a win soon and we end up 2-3 points from bottom, we have to cut him loose, the club comes first. It seems surprising that should it get bad the club won't consider Ross is more part of the problem than the solution.

If this rumour is true could it be Russell Slade . ? It was reported on here that he’s recently left Hereford

I suppose it might not matter if we keep missing out on attracting new players . Everybody else is strengthening and it feels like we’re just treading water

We should also get an assistant DoF to help out the current one.eagwgw wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 3:03 pm The assistant manager thing makes a lot of sense.... said a few times before it just looks the side are playing like there isn't enough coaching ability in the backroom. I'm puzzled by your statement:
"should it get bad the club won't consider Ross is more part of the problem than the solution."
It's already bad. Our form makes us relegation material.

Correct. We should consider ourselves already in a relegation dogfight. Stevenage away in a couple of weeks time is a real 6 pointer.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 3:22 pmWe should also get an assistant DoF to help out the current one.eagwgw wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 3:03 pm The assistant manager thing makes a lot of sense.... said a few times before it just looks the side are playing like there isn't enough coaching ability in the backroom.
