And if he is coming does he have “plenty in the tank sir?”

Exactly. That’s what you get with an inexperienced manager in chargeRedO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 8:57 am Exactly.
If Angol had been told before joining that he was going to play up top on his own, with midfielders that won't support him, and have long balls lumped up to him all day long, he wouldn't have signed. I wouldn't be surprised if he wants out, nor would I blame him.

He won’t if he knows he’ll be played as a lone striker and we won’t be playing him to his strengths .

Re: John Akinde
Signed for Gillingham this morning - far beyond our ambitions.
I genuinely think we are having problems attracting decent players to the club, It's gets tiresome sometimes people ripping into Ling for anything and everything but we should have has targets lined up for the start of the window and should have been putting together deals in the days before the window opened. To say half way through the window that Foster is still identifying targets means either we have already been turned down by a few or the planning in really poor.

Re: John Akinde
We seem to be really struggling to sign players .
We always have had that problem but this time
It’s ponderously slow
Promised 4 more so it’s gonna be a busy week next week if that’s true .

Re: John Akinde
Would be madness to bring in George Alexander at this time IMHO. Ruel is likely to be the one who misses out and it would hinder the limited development he is currently getting.

And he has played for Gills boss Steve Evans before and we don't want to get in players that would involve paying a fee.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:24 pm Apparently he was fully fit and injury free so he wasn't for us.

Re: John Akinde
And as a player why would you want to work under Embleton? Evans is a top lower league manager with proven success, a lot more attractive for players! Embleton F***ing out Ling out!!!! We will never attract decent players with this current set up

I wont miss Akinde. As Sid says, he doesn't work very hard and this season, hasn't got that many goals or assists.Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Thu Jan 23, 2020 9:59 pm Akinde is a proven goalscorer but not a workaholic up front like Bonne was. Problem is that with the way the team is set up at present, even Jimmy Greaves would have struggled to score many goals ! If you want strikers to score, they have to have the ball given to them in space in the right areas of the pitch, decent crosses with supporting players around them to play off, non of this applies to the Os at present, especially if you play the one striker up front system that Ross seems to favour at present.
I would prefer someone like Ironside at Macclesfield. Strong and works hard at unsettling defenses - something we have lacked since Bonne went

Re: John Akinde
Correct. Paying a fee would mean breaking the budget and its probably better just to get relegated AGAIN rather than do that.Top of the West. wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:30 pmAnd he has played for Gills boss Steve Evans before and we don't want to get in players that would involve paying a fee.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:24 pm Apparently he was fully fit and injury free so he wasn't for us.

Bloke called Steve on Orient Hour said he got it first hand from Kent on Saturday . Two full backs , midfield and striker on top of what we have already

Re: John Akinde
Obvious thing to say, but what we need is another young ''Macauley Bonne'' type player with bags of go in him to chase lost causes, hope we can find another unpolished diamond again like him. In all my time watching the Os, he must be top of the centre forward list for sheer work rate alone, what a player and Charlton got him for a mere £200,000, OMG, must be the bargain buy of the season.

So he said 4 more players, at the moment we can’t even get one let alone 4.Luna Tic wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 1:43 pmTop of the West. wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 12:10 pmLuna where did this four more signings promise come from please?

I dread to see the experience and quality when we do get someone, in my opinion they will either be well past their sell by date or so young we might as well play or own youngsters or carrying an injury.

What has "Black and Lazy" got anything to do with this subject. Could you please clear up Apple Wumble?

Well, if his foil did the running and hard work, and he did the scoring, who would be complaining?DuvB wrote: ↑Fri Jan 24, 2020 1:05 pmI wont miss Akinde.
