Re: Strikers at this club
Well if they can’t get more than 1 shot on target with 10+chances and it’s not even them!!!! Then definitely release themSmendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 9:33 pmYou do realise that's not necessarily down to the strikers, right?

Re: Strikers at this club
Orient fans reasoning:
- A strike force that aren’t getting any chances created for them by the midfield.
- A defence that aren’t getting any protection from the midfield.
OUR STRIKERS AND DEFENDERS ARE sh*t.

13 shots, 5 on target. They had 14 shots, 3 on target, I believe that makes our strikers better than theirs.

4 of our shots on target were in 8 minutes of injury time. What about the first 90 minsChelmsford Swimmer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 21, 2020 10:15 pm 13 shots, 5 on target. They had 14 shots, 3 on target, I believe that makes our strikers better than theirs.

Re: Strikers at this club
We started getting crosses in the box once we put a winger on in a wing position.
Sadly we decided to take Harold off at that point.....

Re: Strikers at this club
That’s the crazy part Redo, your best crosser of the ball is not on the pitch as your best header of a ball and a player known for “being good in the air”. You couldn’t make this stuff up, absolute poor decision making once more. It’s falls in the category of let’s make it as difficult as possible for ourselves.

Re: Strikers at this club
Whilst I was not at the game so can’t comment on that part, but surely have your best crosser of the ball on the pitch as the same time as your best header of the ball might have worked and maybe Harrold would have played better?

Re: Strikers at this club
He wasn't in the game, I totally agree.
But how many crosses had we put in for him? Zero, that's how many. And that was because we were lined up with no width.

Re: Strikers at this club
We also had 63% possession, so that can't have all been the last 8 minutes.
We were awful, but still not any worse than one of the form teams in the division. Go figure.

Re: Strikers at this club
what a wonderful post of nonsense
perhaps go to and watch a game mate and dont slag the strikers
they are doing their best but are being playing in all the wrong positions , and the formation is bollocks

Re: Strikers at this club
We have a mid-table strike force. Unfortunately we have a bottom 2 midfield

Re: Strikers at this club
Apart from Harrold who has any past track record of scoring goals,mid-table strike force ? we have no skrike what so ever,Wilkinson and Angol yes good footballers but before coming to us how many goals per season have they scored at league level (not Nat league}you cannot teach players to score is just in them to score, been a number of home games with out playing well chances have gone begging no one on the end of them, take the point about the midfield but one stands out loverly cross right on wilkinsons head from the left couple yards out open goal heads over the top,I know its not fair to pick him out I think he is a good player but to me sums up our forwards, most of the time they are never in the box so they are not going to score goals, good scorers miss chances but after they are back in the box again to have another go

Re: Strikers at this club
Sure he was rubbish but maybe that's because he wasn't getting any decent service
Re: Strikers at this club
I quite like Conor Wilkinson, better skills than I thought. Although apart from his stint at Dagenham he has never really got the goals. I do think despite being skilful he lacks that finishers instinct.
Lee Nogol has been disappointing, 2 goals and 2 penalties is a poor return, although service has been very bad. IMO in a better side that creates good chances he would be banging them in.
I see today we are being linked with John Akinde. He would be more like it under the current side, as he would be more successful in battling against 2 defenders. I don't believe the club would want him under normal circumstances. He is 31 in July, his salary would be large and he would have a 2.5 year deal, he has a declining resale value and might be difficult to shift if he doesn't work, we've been burned before by doing this. But needs must at present.

Re: Strikers at this club
Not for me - I still think Wilkinson and Angol will be good strikers at this level, if given the right support.
I'd still like another striker in the mix, so we have 3 competing for the 2 spots (with Ruel and Harold still assisting when needed) but if funds are tight, I wouldn't do the money on Akinde. It needs to go into the centre of midfield, we need someone alongside Cisse.
