Re: IS OUR FORMATION GETTING THE BEST FROM THE SQUAD?
Ross made some noises about changing, but I ain't so sure it'll happen. There doesn't seem to be much time to change it before the next game and I don't think we have played it before this season. If anything, it might be a return to the 5-3-2, as with Marsh/Brophy we have some more suitable players at wing-back.
I can't see it with the current starting side as it is. A 4-4-2 midfield might be Brophy, Wright, Cisse, JMD. Never mind Cisse doing the job of two men, he will be doing the job of 3 men at times, it would be simple for the opponents to win that midfield battle.
It might work if the opponents were defensive and wanting a draw, allowing us to hold possession and keep them pinned in, but they will fancy a result against us and commit more men on the counter if they don't try and take the game to us from the off. That is more of the reason why we could get results at National League level with a midfield of Clay and Lee, rather than the stupid 'we are top of the League with these two, therefore they must be some of the best midfielders'.
According to Ross, the formation last time out was good, it's just that we didn't impose ourselves on the game. But that has been the case for quite a few games in a row now. So why not just try keeping the same formation but getting the players to impose themselves this time? Either he is talking bollox, or he doesn't have the coaching ability to get the players to do what he wants.

Trouble is that’s not going to happen and we will continue to muddle along and hope that there is one team worse than us.

4-4-2 is the most basic formation . The players should be able to swap to that formation overnight and not have any problems. If Ross doesn’t go with 4-4-2 tomorrow I will be amazed

You forgot to add that you are senile.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:56 am I am a trained and fully qualified by exam as a quantity surveyor of nearly half a century - yes expierenced is the word !
Given any person to work with- within a few minutes I can easily see if they really know what they are doing
The same must apply to an expierenced manager - they just know straight way - who are the best players / what formation is the most effective / how to inspire / they know this you don't learn this in a short time like Ross has got
For the life of common sense get Ross in the boardroom -be nice to a great loyal guy - explain basic words to him that he is going back to number two as his contract had not passed the probationary period or cooling down period so don't worry throw it in the bin now in front of him and have his old contract there to sign off and get in the phone and get a person in pronto
There a whole list we all know would be delighted to assist until the of this season :

The whole forum know you offer nothing from what should be a brain
You spend your time on here immediately posting a snippet of total crap to defend your mates
If we don't win some games soon your be joining a few staff members with your P 45 - I don't care if you become unemployed but I want this club to stay up so I have no other option to just wait and see the next two results
Yes the forum moderator can join you too because he appears to be quite rude in his job maybe you are the same person or maybe your Ceb or spen 777 who cares I don't

Why would you be interested in what other boarders think about me ?UpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 8:13 pm It's a great sunny day here down under
No fires near
No hail stones
No sand storms
Getting ready now for my work - not car cleaning lucky
If we continue to deteriorate and cannot beat any team I be very interested to see what other forum posters say about you on here
Hopefully we will win with Ross and Martin working very hard and you still be there I guess - u best get some sleep now it's past your bed time
I 100% don’t give a fig what other boarders think about me
Don’t be late for work for my sake
Shame you can’t quantity survey your posts as most of them have that sleep feel to them
Happy Tuesday

So now lucky cleans cars in between being a curator in a second rate crime museum. They say times are hard, hey lucky my football boots could do with a clean, any chance you could give them a bit of spit and polish. I'll pay you say a £5 four times a week a total of £20 fancy it?

You would pay someone £1,000 a year to clean a pair of football boots? Are you right?
