Another frustrating game. Whether we are home or away or playing top or bottom half teams the opposition always looks just a bit better than us. If we were scoring goals that wouldn't be a problem but all you need is one lapse in concentration and another 3pts go missing.

Sergeant - 8 - just edged Marsh for MoM. Some good saves and a hell of a lot of composure
Brophy - 6 - never got forward and did his best to deal with Amoo
Happe - 6 - a couple of lapses in concentration but had a decent game
Coulson - 6 - won everything in the air, wish he could pass the ball but wellied it clear at every opportunity
Judd - 6- also wasn't able to support the attack and Embleton didn't trust him to not get himself sent off so subbed him
Kyprianou - 6 - also sort of did okay but had disappeared from the game when he was subbed
Wright - 6 - very average again, should have scored early on
Marsh - 8 - did one hell of a job protecting the defence, sometimes as last man
JMD - 6 - some decent crosses in the first half but went absent after the break
Wilkinson - 7 - frustrating to watch him support Angol as he could do a much better job up top
Angol - 5.5 - unlucky not to score early on but then spent the rest of the game getting more and more angry. Can hold the ball up well but his decision making is awful when in comes to bringing other players into the game

Harrold - should have come on earlier for Angol but didn't contribute much when he did
Cisse - some good distribution, would like to see him start on Tuesday
Clay - we ended the game with him at right back and Marsh at left back!!

Like I said last week. Have wilko as the man up top and have Angol playing off him with him facing goal and not with his back to goal all the time. That one change will make such a difference.

The only player who has scored in open play in the last 5 games is Sotiriou with 2 goals and yet he could not get on today!

Wilkinson isn't a target man, he is far better with his feet

Harrold needs to start, he is the only natural target man, Orient best form came with JMD on the left, Harrold in the middle, Wilkinson the right, that worked a treat, Harrold gave time and space for the others, could hold the ball up and challenge, the team is crying out for Harrold or ideally a young better version of him

Some high scores there for a side that only mustered 2 shots on target and lost. Watching the goal back on social media dock Wright and Brophy a point for complete lack of effort closing down the first clearance and Sargeant a point for suspect positioning for the shot.

Agree with the above, neither Angol not Wilkinson are up for doing the dirty work upfront as a target man. Got to play Harrold or sign a younger, fitter version during the week. Ollie Palmer anyone?

How long do we have to wait until we play 442, we need to start with 2 upfront on tue night if we are to get clear of the bottom lot

Angol doesn’t stop battling.

We don’t need a lump. Both Angol and Wilkinson are plenty physical enough. We just need to play the pair of them together up top.

Amazing how his half-assed attempts at winning headers fool people. No desire to go and get battered but does just enough to make out he's trying.

Neither of them are physical, they're the skillful half of a striking pair but not together. As a replacement for Koroma and Bonne they're well off the mark.

You won't get another Bonne who wins headers, runs the channels and scores goals so I'd settle for one who at least holds onto some of the loose balls.

If you were Ross, wouldn't you at least try two up front. I mean, what has he got to lose. It can't be much worse than what we're doing now.

There's so much more upside than downside. If he can't see that, he has no business managing anything.

No no no, you can’t do that you’ll unbalance the structure of the team and we might score a goal!😀

Whoscored have some ratings: Amoo was man of the match and Sarge was our best player by some way at 7.64. Judd was next at 6.33. All of Port Vales' players were above Judd's rating.

If you look under 'Match Summary', perhaps they have got us sussed out at the moment.....
