Re: Shadrach Ogie
Very good move and hopefully prepares him for next season. If we sign another forward we should look to get Sotiriou back there too.

Re: Shadrach Ogie
When is Widdowson due back? While it will be good for the kid to get game time our only fit LB's at the moment are makeshift, Happe and Brophy. Happe is likely to revert to CB and we know that Brophy would prefer not to play LB. Unless somebody is coming it is a strange decision.

Re: Shadrach Ogie
Even with those stop gaps he wasn't getting in the team though. I like this move. Short term we make do, longer term we benefit from him playing regularly and developing away from a potential relegation dogfight, albeit at a slightly lower level.jamespevans wrote: ↑Fri Jan 17, 2020 2:51 pm When is Widdowson due back? Re: Shadrach Ogie
Hess is a wise old guy, he got the best out of young Ruel and boosted his confidence, perhaps best if Ruel also goes back to Dover soon. Looks a good move for Ogie and more chance of him playing more regularly than if he stays on the sidelines at the Os.

Good move for Ogie. He needs to play a lot more football than he has been doing. I'll be following Dover's results.

I’ll also be following Dover’s results. It did Sotiriou good so I think it’s a good move for him right now for his development. Hess is certainly using his Orient connection to some use . It’s a win ,win for both us and Dover

Re: Shadrach Ogie
If the management thought he was ready to play, then he'd have at least half a dozen games under his belt by now. RE must think that using a an experienced but makeshift LB is a better option than the inexperienced Ogie.

Re: Shadrach Ogie
In our relegation season we were using the kids more because we had to and I don't think they did too bad.

Other than getting relegated, I entirely agree.Howling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 2:40 pm In our relegation season we were using the kids more because we had to and I don't think they did too bad.

Don't think they could really help that at the time.RedO wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 2:54 pmOther than getting relegated, I entirely agree.Howling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 2:40 pm In our relegation season we were using the kids more because we had to and I don't think they did too bad.

Re: Shadrach Ogie
I don't remember the young lads letting us down tbh. The problem was the senior "professionals" who had all but given up. The likes of Nicky Hunt immediately come to mind.RedO wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 2:54 pmOther than getting relegated, I entirely agree.Howling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 2:40 pm In our relegation season we were using the kids more because we had to and I don't think they did too bad.
Koroma, Dolby, Alzate, Judd and Abrahams were the only positives (with the possible exception of Gavin Massey) at all that season.

Re: Shadrach Ogie
Shadrach keeps a clean sheet in a goalless draw at Notts County.
And, in other news, Alabi plays for Eastleigh and gets booked in a 2-0 home defeat.

Re: Shadrach Ogie
What’s happening with Sweeney? When I saw them play in the London Senior Cup, he was the left-back with Ohio in the centre. This might be just because Ogie’s more suited to playing in the middle, but doesn’t Sweeney still offer the sort of specialist LB cover as Oviedo was doing?

Re: Shadrach Ogie
I'm just watching the football on Quest . A young kid Called Bellingham is only 16 and scored today for Birmingham against Cardiff . Now that's in the Championship . If Widdowson was injured and Ogie was good enough for our bench then why didn't we play him instead on sticking square pegs into round holes .

RE doesn’t seem to want to take a chance on Ogie.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 9:31 pm I'm just watching the football in Quest . I agree, playing Brophy at left back, as happened last week is a waste of a guy who runs and beats players for fun.
Especially when Angol was starved of service..........where do we play one of our best wingers.......Left back.
Maybe if our league position was better RE would be more willing to take more risks.
