Lingleton twittr video v2

The fates of Ling & Webb are interesting - how tied are they to Embleton's success? I honestly don't know, but many serious replacements for Embleton will want to bring their own people in and/or be reluctant to work with Ling. I think Ling is probably on thinner ice than Webb though, given what happened with Fletcher and the fact that he's likely on more money
Ling's position is completely tied to Embleton. Davis wrong. Justin right. Fletcher wrong. If this doesn't work out, he has to go.
And if that's the case, the original plan of having a structure that a head coach fits into goes out the window, and so will Webby.
Jobi is the only one who would escape unscathed, assuming the new guy was happy to have him on board. I can't imagine that being an issue.

PS why was the original blocked?
If you want to stop the numpties arguing amongst themselves, block them, not the rest of us.

So they all HAVE TO GO, except Jobi because you like him?RedO wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 2:01 pm OyinbO wrote:

If Embleton doesn't work out and goes say at the end of this season, or at some point this year, then Lingy has to go for his track record. 3 duffers out of 4 is unacceptable.
If the new manager comes in and likes Webb then fair enough, stick with him. But I doubt that would be the case - it's the norm for a new manager to bring in his own assistant manager. I wouldn't expect us to impose Webby on him and make that a condition of him taking the job.
Jobi gets off as he's further down the food chain, that's all. I would expect him and the other coaching and support staff to stay in place.

Re: Lingleton twittr video v2
Glad to see this thread within the thread surviving!
Does anyone know how Ling's contract is structured? Seems like it's a permanent role rather than time-bound like most managers & players.
If Embleton continues in the same vein and gets the heave-ho in late Feb, for example, I doubt they'd get shot of Lingy at the same time - more likely he'll be kept on the payroll until the summer, then quietly and gently pensioned off. You'd doubt he'd have a central role in the recruitment of Embleton's successor though.
Another thing to consider: Travis has gone upstairs at Dunkin, and is now the Chairman rather than the CEO. Thus freeing him up to spend more time with his one true love: LOFC. One wonders whether this reduces the need for a DoF (not that Travis is a football expert, admittedly).

I'm no tax expert, but doesn't that have a bearing on when and how he comes to the uk? If he were to return full time?
Saying that isn't his son still in school? So uprooting the family probably isn't he main concern just right now.

As I frequently tell my clients. Never let the tax tail wag the commercial dog. If he needs to come back to the UK to concentrate on fixing the current shambles then so be it.
As for his son I'm sure his privileged upbringing will see him through.

He's not here full time, but he is able to spend much more time here, and more time on Orient related matters when he isn't here.

Im pretty sure its 6 months & 1 day out of the country & you are not classed as a permament resident .
My ex boss' son would do a month here a month away.
Seems strange that his wife & kids didnt have to do the same .
Being they were born here & abroad.

Of course not, being an american citizen he pays tax on his global earnings no matter what country he earns them in. The IRS are not stupid.
