I got him banned. It was either that or legal action. The Mods made the right choice.StillSpike wrote: ↑Thu May 02, 2019 8:12 pm What happened to MexicO ? Was quite prolific, but then he didn't seem to last very long. Hope he's OK

This MexicO chap’s comments were bordering on the ridiculous. Re: Messageboard Behaviour - A polite reminder
Admin guys, if you had taken control of Disoriented some time ago who went out of his way to upset nearly every person on here then the retaliation that he deserved more than anyone else would not of happened (so much), however not only did you take no action you positively protected him and then had a go at people putting him in his place, It doesn't happen on the other board because Mungo says goodbye to those accounts, especially disoriented's alias's

That went well didn’t it?
Permanent goodbyes to NOM and Jarvis.
Once again I’ll make it clear that I really don’t want to intervene unless there’s no choice.

Re: Messageboard Behaviour - A polite reminder
NOM was an excellent example of "don't feed the troll".
Rather foolishly I took the bait for a couple of days. I then employed a tactic of ignoring everything he said. He really upped the ante towards the end. Replying to every post I wrote. Constantly trying to hijack my threads. Eventually he gave up and moved on to somebody else.
I've learnt my lesson. Not feeding them is an immensely successful tactic.

That's a very dangerous call. Its censorship....what is the point of a message board if everyone has to agree with your ( or the admins) thoughts on everything. If you ( or others) can't cope with people expressing different views to you, then social media is probably not the place for you.
Abusive behaviour is very different from simply having differing views

Welcome back Spen! Did you enjoy your time away? What a coincidence that it coincided with the period where the club was at a high. Wonder if this fact and your absence are related in any way?spen666 wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 12:10 pmpoint nine one eight wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 11:53 amThen jump on those who go out of there way to upset people and not those who eventually bite back

Didn't have you in mind at all, read lots of your posts with interest, and don't think you go out of your way to upset people. I'm not aware of any abusive behavior between us at all. In an ideal world censorship wouldn't happen, however sometimes we need a bit of corralling.spen666 wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 12:10 pmpoint nine one eight wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 11:53 amThen jump on those who go out of there way to upset people and not those who eventually bite back

Agree with you. Whilst Spen exclusively posts negative comments about the club and anybody involved with it, he isn’t abusive.point nine one eight wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 12:37 pmDidn't have you in mind at all, read lots of your posts with interest, and don't think you go out of your way to upset people. I wasn't aiming my post at anyone in particular and certainly not suggesting you were being abusive. Sorry if it came across that way.point nine one eight wrote: ↑Fri May 03, 2019 12:37 pmDidn't have you in mind at all, read lots of your posts with interest, and don't think you go out of your way to upset people. ...just the general point re censorship.
It starts with a ban of something most agree with, but that is the thin end of the wedge..

You clearly are unable to read. I do not post negative things about Orient.
I may give an alternative view on things to you.
I may also not look at everything through rose tinted glasses.
It's a fact that most football fans are not objective about what they see or anything to do with their team.

You don't only post negative.
You never post positive.
There, sorted it for you.
As I said, glad to have you back. It's always nice to get the opinions of neutrals rather than just from Os fans.

The thing about trolls is they think they are in for the long game but a clever bait normally sends the "troll" into a frenzy .
Once the frenzy is over the troll is normally gone.
Happy Fishing all.

being rude or nasty does not make you a better boarder just the opposite.
and bullying only attracts more bullying. politeness cost nothing.
