As someone said on anothet thread Sargeant has made it easy for Embleton to swap him out for Vigoroux next game. Neither here nor there for the goal.

Pure panic from the Grimsby player for the pen, Clay had 6 in front of him - shot wouldn't have got through

Now I've seen it again, I think it was partially Sergeant's fault. It's a terrible error from Brophy in the first instance but if Sergeant simply stays on his line that doesn't go in. It was poor judgement particularly as the ball was bouncing. Think Vigoroux should start next week

There are lots of people at fault for their goal. Sarge played his part by stepping into no mans land.

Wilkinson and the player for the penalty is hilarious, he trys blocking Wilkinson, Wilkinson then trys yanking his arm out its socket

Lol one mistake that wasn’t really his fault and leave the kid hang out to dry

What a weird response. I'm simply saying it as it is, not hanging him out to dry. You've even just said yourself it was a mistake. Bizarre.

I think it is a point
It was a bouncing ball, easy for a lob. If the keeper stays put, the attacker has more to do with a defender, Happe, coming over as well. Virtually any player could have scored with a lob in that position. Its not hanging a keeper out to dry,but he made it easy for the attacker

Had Sargeant not come out like that, the Grimsby player wouldnt have been able to chip/lob it past him, but he still would probably have scored, by blasting it, or putting it wide of him.
Having said that, Sargeant does make some bed decisions, and I reckon he'll not be retained in the summer

Yep. Error from Brophy, poor positioning from Coulson and Happe and Sargeant totally indecisive and made the wrong choice.

All of that, SF.

I’d also include Wright, Clay and Marsh in that for failing to show for Brophy. Something Hector would have done.

In those highlights, they show the one decent save their keeper made. Have a look at Brophy running with the ball, just before he lays it off to JMD who puts in a great cross, he has four men around him. That means we have 3 spare players somewhere, all doing f*** all.

(To be fair to Clay, when he came on he was up for it and was getting involved but that was in more advanced positions, I’m talking about someone coming deep and demanding the ball from the centre halves and fullbacks. Something only Hector will do out of our lot).

If vigoroux is the much better player, then of course he should.

That will be embarrassing for a certain DoF. Sargeant needed a flawless game yesterday to retain his place against the new signing but think the goal will make Embleton's decision a lot easier. Just how it is, and how it should be... two players pushing each other for the #1 spot.
