Re: Question for embleton
Which might be fair as we've not seen enough of him to decide. If that's the case why hasn't he been out on loan? Surely that would be best for his development, would it not?

Re: Question for embleton
You have to have someone prepared to take him
Most clubs will take a midfielder or a forward on loan.
A GK or a defender comes from Neccesity through injuries.

Re: Question for embleton
Have to agree.Given how weak we have been at the back all season, it is baffling why the kid hasn’t been given a chance. It says more about Embleton’s insecurities than what is good for the team.

Re: Question for embleton
It seems in some ways a similar situation to that of Myles Judd. Even when the two first choice FB’s ( Ling or Widdowson) are out injured, Ross seems to prefer to play someone else in the position. We have had Ekpiteta, Marsh & Turley at RB in recent weeks and Happe & Brophy at LB. In fairness, none of the guys have let us down and I actually thought Brophy did pretty well overall yesterday, but it does suggest that neither Judd and especially Ogie have RE’s complete confidence.

Re: Question for embleton
Anyone who saw our tin pot trophy game against Southend in which ogie was named and clearly was the man of the match would have seen that he will be an exceptional player at our level. He was facing an extremely physical forward but completely dominated him , and also made some superb tackles and positive runs. I’ve seen him several times and apart from the odd error he has always impressed.

Re: Question for embleton
Ive seen him caught out of position a few times, but otherwise looks an excellent prospect. Brophy was great at left back yesterday. Not sure if Ogie is a LB or CB.

Re: Question for embleton
Embleton hasn't got a clue. The players, coaches, BOD, most fans know it and I'd say the owners are pretty aware too. The club has to try and get over the JE tragedy and more on.
RE gets a job he said he didn't want, back when he said he was leaving the role the team played much better, new manager comes in and RE then decides he wants the job and with a few senior players and Ling he shafted Fletcher.
I think Spurs are insisting that Marsh plays. Ling will be first choice too when available as Ling and RE are too close. I think Wright is getting favoritism because he was the last player that JE signed and is involved with the JE foundation. I don't think Webb or McAnuff have much of an influence, unfortunately. I think like many fans, I've been over critical on Clay, he was being slated the year before last, then giving player of the season, perhaps 90 minutes doesn't suit him at league level but as he showed yesterday he can do a job when called.upon. Players are been played out of position. The team is being set up not too lose. Any striker would be frustrated with the current set up and formation and lack of support. The club hasn't utilised some of the players. I reckon Brill would still be playing if he wasn't injured. Coulson was very important at the end of last season but has struggled big time this year but straight back in the team the moment Ross is confirmed as the head coach.
I reckon that many of the current squad are unhappy and it's just a matter of time before Embleton and Ling are put out to pasture.

Rory, I agree with a good deal of what you say but I can assure you that Spurs do not “ insist” that Marsh plays. Re: Question for embleton
It's a funny old game isn't it, Brophy for 60 minutes was my man of the match, he doesn't make that mistake, then everyone would come on here and go Brophy played well, 7/8. Brophy makes that stupid error and fairly people are calling for Ogie.
To be honest, I thought Ogie would've been given a chance by now, Happe has done okay at LB but is six foot and built like a CB, Ogie is tall but a bit more faster, wirery

Re: Question for embleton
He was very good against Southend but he was awful at AFC Wimbledon, caught out of position for the penalty, given the run around all first half by Scott Wagstaff and eventually substituted. He does need a loan and to play games but his preffered position is centre half and it maybe there that he eventually makes his mark.Redcard wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 10:55 am Anyone who saw our tin pot trophy game against Southend in which ogie was named and clearly was the man of the match would have seen that he will be an exceptional player at our level. Re: Question for embleton
Correct, preferred position for Ogie is at centre half and that is maybe where he will make his mark in the future. Lastly, if we cannot give Ogie a game, then far better to loan him out, same goes for Ruel.Top of the West. wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 10:52 pmHe was very good against Southend but he was awful at AFC Wimbledon, caught out of position for the penalty, given the run around all first half by Scott Wagstaff and eventually substituted.
