Gormans replacement
Has he arrived yet?
It's good that the club have finally identified the two crucial areas that need improving, GK and CM. The keeper position is now sorted. Farming out Gorman so we have space to bring in another CM sets us up nicely. I can't wait to see who comes in as the tough tackling, box to box, Ebou Adams type player we've been in need of for two years now.

Agreed. My sources tell me the search for that type of player with a pre existing long term injury continues. Word is fractures are preferred to ligament damage.RedO wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 9:58 am Has he arrived yet?

Ross now has the gig. The space in the squad has been made. His next piece of recruitment could make or break his career.

Re: Gormans replacement
According to gilso who said this on the Orient hour thread.
The one question I wanted answered, which was the next one up but we ran out of time was concerning centre midfield. I asked afterward and it is an area they are looking at, whether that results in a transfer coming in remains to be seen.
Not sure that’s a positive really, cos all he had to say was yes we are Loking to strengthen in that area and leave it at that.

Re: Gormans replacement
Not too many players will want to come to a club with no manager and we're the atmosphere has become toxic as we can see with some of the postings on here usually by 3 or 4 usual suspects. The Orient is supposed to be a family club. No harm to Ross, he will be gone by the summer, I could be wrong and I will hold my hands up if so.

Re: Gormans replacement
Don’t think he will be Rory, he’s here till the bitter end, just like 99% of managers and who could blame him?
I truly hope he succeeds, but I’ve seen nothing to suggest that he will. Hopefully he starts tomorrow with a win.

Thor, just watch tommorow if we go behind or are playing the usual way of late and gauge the atmosphere. I know it's only one game but if things don't go well, people will be up in arms again.

Re: Gormans replacement
I might moan on here afterwards, but not during the game, I support my team, my club. I won’t boo no matter how bad it gets. Plus my wife and kids would put me straight in a nano second!

Re: Gormans replacement
Doubt it as I'm sure he asked for a transfer and they would not have wanted him to go to a league rival.

Re: Gormans replacement
It depends on the loan agreement. The clubs can either share the players wages or the parent club can pay the wages entirely if it views the loan as a development opportunity for the loanee and doesn't need money, or the loaned club can pay the entire wage if it considers the deal really valuable.

Re: Gormans replacement
Thor, it all makes sense. Embleton said that himself and Dale were discussing things recently (that's another way of not saying that Gorman wanted a transfer as he wanted more game time). Also he stated that a number of clubs were interested, a number of National league teams too. Initially, it appears they were not prepared to let him go at all, that if they let him go they would have preferred that he'd go to the National League but Gorman wanted to play league football. You'd be frustrated yourself if you couldn't get game time in that midfield.
You'll have noticed that all through December and early January, Gorman was on the bench and not used as far as I can recall and when they realised that it was likely that he was likely to move he was left out of the squad alltogether, I think this was the most recent Orient game and Marsh's loan was extended. So it's highly unlikely that we are paying any part of the wages.

Too late now, that horse has bolted. Flynn got a player that he has wanted since his time at Stevenage.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2020 9:04 pmIf that's the case i would want cash up front. They’re welcome to him, in fairness.
Just excited to see who we bring in now.

Re: Gormans replacement
I don’t think Gorman was that much worse than Clay or Wright, but the latter two seemed undroppable.
I assume that He won’t be allowed to play against us on 25th January ??
