He does want it. The problem is results indicate he's not the right man for it.

It is bizarre to give someone a job when they're in such a poor run of form and don't seem to have the answers to turn it around.
Can only hope there's a bunch of new players coming in to give him a shot at changing things up and a break clause for summer if the season ends poorly.

Thanks LOFC - Daryl MacMahon now at the Daggers!!
Someone at "Our Club" has a lot of explaining to do with this ongoing pantomime!! Would have used stronger words if not for forum rules!
Can only assume that ML and the gang are in complete control - irrespective of results and possible relegation - what a mess!

Not worth getting wound up over McMahon, he was a non-starter here anyway.
TBH I think the board are as unhappy as any other fan about results and performances, but the fact is there are only a limited number of managers who would be suitable for us.
I do think at least some of the delay with Ross is that some managers may become available within this month. I don't think Calderwood is that safe at Cambridge (despite his new deal), also think Darren Ferguson might be given the bullet soon. Those are the types of people that seem to be suited to the structure.

Pretty much... although working with Ling would be like freedom if your previous DoF was Barry Fry.

A limited number of managers due to our club not wanting to upset the applecart.eagwgw wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2020 2:18 pm Not worth getting wound up over McMahon, he was a non-starter here anyway.

IMO its because ML doesn't want a "big" character with the ability to oppose him. Though I also appreciate the JE was no shrinking violet, which shoots my theory down. But I still think that is a large part of it.

Yes does seem to be the case. What other clubs are there where the D.O.F has such a huge say as Ling does at Leyton Orient ?

Re: Why give RE the job? He doesn't want it and has v poor results?
I’ve been a season ticket holder for 35 years, I cannot believe we can be seriously considering offering RE the job on a full time basis.
The performances and form since he re-took charge are pathetic and he knows it (see Walsall interview).
We need change quickly and if this board cannot see it, the n they are clearly showing their inexperience. Their lack of communication is not helpful either.
This is the most frustrated I’ve been in all my time supporting the O’s.

Imagine that Dario Gradi at Crewe would wield more power than Lingy here.
Crewe did not recruit 'manager' types and got head coaches as well.

I wouldn’t use Crewe or Gradi in any way as role models.
