Whilst I think he seems a decent signing, I can't help feeling this is a few crumbs thrown to us, to quell our fury, regarding, everything else.
Ling isn't going anywhere, and Ross, will continue to be his frontman.

We needed a better keeper and went out and got one. I don't understand why you think this is a few crumbs being thrown to us when we're clearly looking to improve. Were we meant to not bother strengthening?

Totally peed off. A guy not good enough for Swindon. Hardly played recently. Why spend the budget on a goal keeper when we all know its midfield and up front we are struggling. Sarge hasn't been a weakness so will the guy even play.

Shades of our Italian saga
He's only our first signing of the window . Hopefully our central midfield will get strengthened next. We can make a proper judgement on our transfer business after the transfer window closes

Sitts on Twitter before..... Orient, struggling to score goals, so they sign a keeper
Guy has a point, doesn't he?
Not really. We also needed a keeper and this should improve the organisation of the defence. We've conceded some cheap goals lately and analytics shows that keeping a clean sheet is worth more points over time than scoring 1 goal (source : The Numbers Game).
If we only sign a keeper then clearly that's not satisfactory. But signing a keeper is a good and necessary improvement.
I don't see the point of this signing. There are many deficiencies to deal with before we look at the keeper. Conceding goals as a direct result of keeper actions isn't an issue - in fact Sarge could be our most consistent player in the past 4 weeks.
I'm not sure he's "match ready" and we can't be affording to bring him up to speed by playing him to fitness.
It's kind reminiscent of the end of Davis's time here. We were conceding goals for fun, he tried to change things up and the rate of goals slowed down, but then we stopped scoring.
Feel a bit sorry for Sarge - he probably may feel he needs to be starting games and he definitely could be a first-choice in the National League. He also has done nothing wrong in the games he has had, but it seems quite unlikely that Ross will keep his word about players playing well keeping their place. So he may have to leave to progress. Ultimately the club comes first and Vigs definitely improves the keeping department and is a player who the top sides might like to have had.
Only downer is previous disciplinary issues. I'd imagine the transfer was put into motion a week or two ago, but the probability of Ross's appointment as manager has taken a nosedive after Boxing Day.
I'd imagine the negotiations went smoothly for this, player returning to London, knows the bosses, his mate Brophy is here..... getting the real priorities in like midfielders is now important.

Lets just wait and see who else we sign next over the next couple of weeks before we jump to conclusions . I'm quite hopeful that another two or three players will soon be coming in .

I agree , Sarge has done nothing wrong and couldn't be blamed for any of the goals I've seen him concede. Vigouroux has also got a tough job on his hands behind that defence of ours.
For Sarge, it is a bitter pill to swallow, to find out that immediatly the transfer window opens, the club sign a new goalkeeper. I think unless Lawrence Vigouroux gets injured, before the season ends it will be the end for Sarge at Orient.

It's end of the road for one of Sargeant and Brill. Both under contract though so could be an awkward one to sort out.
We do need two good keepers challenging each other though. Janata doesn't seem up to that right now so the signing makes sense on that front.
