Three months ago that was a fair assessment.
Now, it would be considered as a cop-out.
Just saying.

Re: Why can’t the board
My view is the board are sh*t scared of making another Fletcher type blunder . Much less chance of that happening if we do the normal thing and identify the experienced manager we want and go after them . Like somebody else posted, why wait around for second rate chancers to apply .

Re: Why can’t the board
There's an echo chamber in the upper management of this "promoting from within" philosophy they touched on in the Q&A. The way Travis and Ling were talking they want a production line of Embleton > McAnuff > Saah and perhaps Webb in there too all being managerial candidates at the club. All following Ling's way of thinking and playing style. All very technical and nice, in a league where you need strength, pace and no small amount of experience and leadership on the field.
They seem to not want any outside influence or ideas now, never mind the fact our most successful manager of recent times came in with exactly that and made bold changes.
There also seems to be almost a shrine mentality of keeping the squad as it was, almost in tribute while the league moves on around us. Again ironic as JE constantly evolved the squad and his approach to match the situation at the time.
It needs someone with some balls to take control of this as right now our best hope is wishing ill on Macclesfield's financial situation to save us. That's a bad place to be on so many levels.

Re: Why can’t the board
You can't but equally as much as we'd like to stop the football world for a season to get over it the reality doesn't work that way. If club doesn't sort itself out all that legacy will be undone and that's almost unthinkable.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 6:14 pmYou can put a time on grief Dis?Disoriented wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:57 pmThree months ago that was a fair assessment.

So let’s wallow in self-pity for the next, say, 30 years, whilst we trash JE’s achievement and legacy.Lucky7 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 6:14 pmYou can put a time on grief Dis?Disoriented wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 5:57 pmThree months ago that was a fair assessment.

Re: Why can’t the board
That is not going to happen either, we are in trouble, big trouble. Unfortunate the two major players ling and Embleton are incompetent in their roles or at least that’s how it appears.gshaw wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 6:09 pm There's an echo chamber in the upper management of this "promoting from within" philosophy they touched on in the Q&A.
