I would hate to know. My wife thinks you have to buy everyone you have met, and their kids a Christmas present.
I just had a kid who I didn’t even recognise ring my bell and ask for her . I told him she wasn’t home and asked what he wanted. He said that he will be going on holiday over Xmas so wanted his Xmas money now.

All in all, including going out etc, probably about 450 notes.
Only got a small family, but bought presents for staff at my gym too, and people at the Recovery place in Southend who have helped me out in dark times. It was all worth it imo.

Whatever it is it is worth every euro to have my family around me. Even my sister in law you double dips the butter knife into the marmalade.

About £450 on Food and Booze, plus about £600 on presents. £20 for the tree - the decorations come out of the storage box each year.

As usual due to Mrs Nes' largesse, too much. But I don't begrudge her doing it anymore.
I'm the "humbug Christmas" guy.

The amount of money you spend matters not one iota. What's important is family at this time of year. Spending time with family is what matters.
If you can help someone then do that, maybe an elderly person in your road, say hello to them have a chat it could make their day.
Above all share the love.

You're welcome to go and spend some time with my family if you want. Rather you than me.

Re: So how much have you spent on Christmas?
About £150 on presents so far for about 8 family members, gf and gf's parents. Also £60 odd on a train ticket as going to see gf's family for a few days after. Will end up being more once dad's side of the family tell me what they want, and will probably get the Mrs something else too.
Glad I'm not in a position to host yet, sounds like an expensive nightmare.
