THE NEXT MANAGER

Post by faith1234 »

Seems to be going on and on and yet we have all been told that a deal is all most done and why is it taking so long if it is only going to be ross or webb or mcanuff which i think is the owners way of not spending money the cheap option 😈

I imagine there are a few possibilities

-- It's Ross but they don't want to announce it until:
- they've finalised the formal details of it (salary, terms of contract etc)
- it feels like a good opportunity sentiment-wise (i.e. after a win)

-- It's an external person but they don't want to announce it until:
- said person has wrapped up everything at their end
- they've finalised the formal details of it (salary, terms of contract etc)
- the person has had a chance to spend some time with everyone they need to (after all the talk about 'bad fit' last time)

-- It's Jobi or Webb but they don't want to announce it until:
- they've finalised the formal details of it (salary, terms of contract etc)
- they've all figured out how the reshuffle will actually work in practice

The first two seem more likely to me (but I admittedly have no idea what I'm talking about)

They’re waiting for a win so they can announce Ross.

It wouldn't be much of a surprise to see Ross appointed until such time as Jobi finishes his badges.

This, all the interviews and soundbites have been for Embleton being handed the job. Also the cheapest and easiest to control from Ling's POV. One or two results is all it'll take then be gets the gig.

If Ross gets the job, cue the ‘Ling out’ chants.

If he gets the role (which I think will be a mistake) and fails then there is no way he could go back to being on the coaching staff, the players would have lost respect for him as a manager and wouldn’t necessarily accept him back as a coach due to the respect element having been lost.

If I were him and in the setup we have I’d probably solidify my role on the coaching team as maybe assistant manager cos let’s face it if he’s as good as they say (I’m told by someone I used to coach Ross is a really good coach so I do believe that) then there is not a cats chance of him being fired.

I also believe in having your best people in their best roles so as to give you the best opportunity to be successful.
