Let’s see how the next couple of years pan out. My suspicion is that come 2024 there are going to be a lot of bitterly disappointed people in these swing seats who sold their souls to the Tories and get nothing in return.

If the Labour Party has any sense then it will realise that the British public simply will not elect somebody who is deemed too “far left”, or “too socialist” or “a Marxist”. Whether or not those labels are accurate is irrelevant.

I do find it interesting that the media have denigrated Corbyn so much, a complete character assassination, that they can’t possibly try to suggest that whoever takes over is worse.
The first point - Isn't this what always happens. Under any government, those that do well continue to do well and those that struggle continue to struggle. The colour of the government makes little difference.

As to the second point - Johnson is dishonest and this has been shown time and time again, but it doesn't stop people voting for him. To my mind Jeremy Corbyn has been shown to be honest. You might not like what he stands for, but at least he is consistent.
Lots of people really don’t care if Johnson is a serial liar, philanderer, expresses mild racism and comes from a family of nasty elitists as long as they get their precious Brexit.

That’s the sad truth.
Yep spot on pal, Corbyn, honest, having a laff ain't ya. anyway he's dead in the water

Pointing out the flaws of Johnson does not mean I’m denying the flaws of Corbyn.

This is the exact kind of tedious ill logic which often makes political discourse on the internet so painful.

Corbyn was the gift that keeps on giving. His own party never wanted him, it was the rank and file activist party members that voted him in. Despite trying to bribe virtually everyone with free childcare, free prescriptions, free university education, free wi fi, £15,000 average handouts to women pensioners who lost out, the public thankfully rejected this terrorist supporting, antisemetic Marxist . If he had an ounce of decency he will resign now and not wait until he is driven out, but don’t hold your breath.

Aka, something which was available to everyone in this country 20 years ago....

The free WiFi and other stuff was bonkers but to try to claim that giving a population access to free higher education is some sort of sinister bribe is pretty mental.

Huxley, they were all great ideas , so would be scrapping v.a.t and council tax, but of course they were never going to happen because implementing them would have bankrupted the country.

Scrapping council tax isn’t a good idea.

Giving the population access to free higher education is a good idea.

Ah yes the 4 day working week, I think that was what frightened many labour supporters, the thought of having to work that much.

One sinister outcome had Corbyn’s Labour won the election (and you wouldn’t have seen this in their manifesto) would have been the enfranchisement of the 1.4 million (according to the ONS) 16 and 17 year olds who almost certainly would then vote Labour. Just imagine what a difference all these budding Corbynistas could have made to the results if they had the vote on 12th December

This age group, and their university student counterparts are groomed by left wing teachers and lecturers blinkered in their support for the left and their hatred of the right. Teachers are bound by the 1996 Education Act to present different political beliefs impartially and to not promote partisan political views. Yet far too many schools are simply echo-chambers for the left-wing views of its staff. According to a survey, eight in ten university lecturers are “left-wing” and Sussex University was accused of undermining free speech after one of its leading professors held a workshop for academic staff of how to “deal with right-wing attitudes in the classroom”.

Is it any wonder then that 90% of universities are guilty of practising ‘no-platforming’ which uses the pretext of opposing hate speech and setting up “safe spaces” to effectively deny free speech, a balanced debate and allow certain individuals to be harassed. Germaine Greer, Peter Tatchell, Nick Lowles and Julie Bindel are just some of many who have been no-platformed. A tool that was once intended to protect democracy from undemocratic movements such as the BMP and other far right organisations has become a weapon used by the undemocratic against democracy.

If this country ever voted in Corbynism (or its incarnation once Jeremy stands down), it would not be a place in which I want to live.

Now let’s see how much left-wing bile and diatribe this attracts

The next GE will be sometime in 2024, and the Labour Party will be a different party, with a different leader and a different manifesto......but one thing will remain the same.
The right wing press will vilify the party and the leader whoever it is, because they do it every time.
Remember 'Red Ed'......he wasnt a danger to this country, but they smeared him and his father.
I have a copy of the Daily Express from June 1945, where the headline says, If you vote Labour, they will bring in a gestapo here. Labour won, and of course no gestapo.
The point is with the media printing negative stories non stop, it makes it very hard to win.

" Never be deceived that the rich will allow you to vote away their wealth"......Lucy Parsons 1851 to 1942

I don't think the next election will be in 2024. The Albino Buffoon is a screw up.

I see also that the Tory in Blyth Valley lied about his qualifications and membership of a professional body.

Some free advice.

If you’re going to troll, please be more subtle.

Literally asking people to react to your trolling at the end of your post is a dead giveaway.
