Orient Youth Players

Post by Thor »

There are I'm sure people who frequent this board that know alot about the youth we have and or coming up in the teams behind them.

We've seen the likes of Alzate, Darby, Koroma, Happe, Ling, Ruel and Hector, Ogie, Sarge, Janata. Plus others who never hit the first team and were sold before making it that far.

What players have we got coming through who in your opinion will make it? Who are the prospects coming through behind them?

Sorting out the youth section was one of the best things hearn did before he left us, and its pleasing that its continuing to prove fruitful still. The next step is to keep those youngsters and get them in the first team (as long as they are good enough of course).

Time for him to be put in the shop window before we sell him for a pittance.

Based on what was said the other day the club sells them at the 9-16 age range now so you'll never see the good ones. Brought in £150k, which based on the size of the staff list wouldn't even cover costs of wages :|

Sotiriou and Ogie must get their chance. Perhaps when we are a bit safer from the drop though.

Ogie especially, but I don’t think Embleton is keen on him.

Whatever we may think of them, I think it is worth applauding the fact, that according to the BBC,this weekend Man U's squad will have for the 4000 consecutive time a player that has been developed through their youth team. This dates back to 1937.
