I asked him who he was voting for and he replied "I want brexit done and dusted" I said good man we need an end to this farce so we can all move on. He then said I'm a labour man through and through and have voted labour all my life, but today I'm voting for boris cos im thinking of my grand children. If labour got in we would have utopia for a couple of years and then the bill needs paying and we wont be able to pay it, that's why along with Brexit and for the first time I'm voting for boris, it's hard, but I think it's the right thing to do.
True labour bailing out as he wants brexit finished with. There is plenty more like him out there.
Good people I thought. True Labour people who don't just think of themselves all the time.
How does that compare with your "true" story Thor?
In the affluent little village I live in I had a chat with 2 moderate remain voting Tories in my local paper shop today. One man one woman. They were just about to vote and I asked them who they'd vote for. They both said that only an idiot would vote for that lying scumbag Boris and his No Deal Brexit. I agreed with them but said there are still some gullible idiots who will vote for the accomplished liar. So I don't need to make anything up. It's one mans viewpoint on his voting intentions, but it highlights a real concern among voters, the fact that you dismiss it says more about your closed mind than mine.
Have a nice day sir.

But more importantly
the free spam , the free tinned chicken curry ,
The free basics custard creams the free tinned potatoes & tinned peas & carrots were a real boost.
Some were quite a lot older & it reminded them of rationing during the war.
No bloody powdered eggs though !

Re: Who will you be voting for?
Just plodded up to the polling station with mutt in tow in vile wet, cold weather. Labour, though it’ll make no impact in a safe Tory seat where their incumbent candidate reflects the majority of the local population: well off wet remainer types who might, at a push, tick the Yellow Tory box rather than hold their nose and endorse somebody as scummy as Johnson the liar. It’s one of those seats (Tunbridge Wells) where Labour might as well stand aside and let the Libs have a run at it (although the Tory vote is usually well over 50%), if Swinson hadn’t been so tactically stupid.

Re: Who will you be voting for?
I postal voted for Labour about a week ago. There was a nice lady in the same room who was voting Green, who are pro Indy. We agreed to disagree, and then did the washing up.
This constituency is an odd one. The SNP lad got suspended by the party for sharing an Anti Semitic post on twitter. The ballot papers had already been printed but the SNP pulled support for him, so he's standing as an independent anyway. I think it'll split the Indy vote, 'cos lots of folk will change to green. I reckon the Labour lady will win it, but this guy has a good local support, so might have a chance.
Not as good a story as Thor's, I guess.

Re: Who will you be voting for?
I worked for the DHSS in 1979 and went to a union meeting in Archway Tower where the speaker was the Hornsey Labour Party man Mr Corbyn. I was surprised by his radical Marxist views and thought he was similar to Tony Benn in many ways. I was young and idealistic then and came from a very Labour/Fabian family. The IRA thing is very true as he talked about his freedom fighting friends in the Archway Tavern across the road which was an IRA pub then. I said at the end of the meeting to my union co-ordinator " God I hope he never becomes an MP"point nine one eight wrote: ↑Thu Dec 12, 2019 10:29 am Boris, He's only got one job to do in my book, Get us out of the EU preferable with no Deal, Win Win chicken dinner.

I think all the political parties in the UK seem to run by complete idiots and I think most non biased people just long for somebody who seems vaguely normal. Perhaps politics is really just for the feeble minded. Its all rather sad.

I dropped my postal vote in earlier this afternoon.
Literally never seen another soul in there in prior years, today there 4 or 5 ahead of me. Turnout is going to be through the roof.

Re: Who will you be voting for?
Yougov have just published their final poll. The data collection period ended two days ago. The Tories are predicted to get an outright majority of 21 although the most interesting thing for me was that they said the Tories were trending down rapidly and that the margin of error already placed the possibility of a hung parliament firmly on the agenda. Yougov were predicting a Tory majority of 80+ (if memory serves) just a week ago so something is clearly happening. Whether it'll be enough I don't know but at least there's a little hope. The people in the northern towns rumoured to go blue are in for one hell of a shock when they realise they've been had for all their marbles. I'd say I feel sorry for them but I don't. I feel sorry for the people who's heads weren't up their own arses and are going to pay the heaviest price.
