Tonight’s Leaders Debate
Well Bojo won that one, that’s for sure. At one point Jezza I thought lost his cool.
If labour dropped the whole scale renationlisation of industry’s, got rid of Jezza, took a certain position on Brexit and what the party would recommend then with their manifesto they have would have won the election. They will have to sit out in the wilderness now for at least one full term maybe more, cos if and it’s a big if, if Bojo does what he says then I see a positive future for his party.

What lightweight questions were put to them.
It was all just sound bites in the opinion of Mrs NES and I

Still lying frequently though, 'anyone guilty of isamaphobia is thrown out instantly', or words to that effect. Yes Boris like the Tory councillor who was reported for social media posts , suspended and then reinstated within days as the party would have lost their majority in the town hall.

Re: Tonight’s Leaders Debate
It was a scoreless draw.
I make Thor wrong on the third of his recommendations, and I don't think people are too concerned about the first.
If Labour took a position either way, the problems would be endless as the party throughout it's history has had to straddle two groups- middle class liberals and working class workers. Brexit straddles these two groups almost perfectly. The only way Labour can keep both of these groups somewhat on board is by taking the pragmatic approach it is taking.

Re: Tonight’s Leaders Debate
Boris had to keep his powder dry tonight which he pretty much did, Corbyn didn't land any real blows and Boris kept his narrative pretty much on what he wanted. As debates go it was pretty tepid which suited Boris more than Corbyn.
YouGov poll at the end of the programme asking who had performed best on the night had Boris 52% to 48% ahead.......where have I heard those figures before.

Just about, but I was thinking more about the Brexit vote that was 52/48 wasn't it?spen666 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 11:34 pmWasn't the last leaders debate exit poll the same?Top of the West. wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 11:20 pm Boris had to keep his powder dry tonight which he pretty much did, Corbyn didn't land any real blows and Boris kept his narrative pretty much on what he wanted. Re: Tonight’s Leaders Debate
It was dull.
The only highlight was the old check shirted skinhead in the audience who clapped like a performing seal at every lie emanating from Boris’s trap.
