It wouldn’t be a narrow remain victory dunners. It would be a landslide remain victory because leavers would not campaign or vote. You would have 17m people completely disenfranchised. Riots would be small and contained. It would be a different kind of civil disobedience like that seen in Greece. For example, 17m people, or at least the self employed, not paying taxes. The government struggling to collect income then struggles to get buyers for its debt and the capital markets walk away from the Uk. With a left wing labour government that is already going to struggle to convince investors of its credit worthiness the knock on effects would be catastrophic.

Agree 100% . A Labour victory would make us bankrupt within a few years. Why can’t others see this.Beradogs wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 6:26 amIt is the most divisive. At least with the Liberals I know where they stand. They hate Brexit full stop. The Labour Party aside from Corbyn also hate brexit but are pretending they don’t mind it if they could get a great deal. When they get a great deal (which they won’t) they will go back to hating it again. They will then put this deal which would be remain in all but name against remain. I am amazed that you and many others cannot see that this would lead to this country torn to pieces. Nobody on the leave side would campaign for labours deal, labour won’t even campaign for the labour deal. The referendum result would have no legitimacy and it would be a farce. If there is anything that could tip the country into losing the plot this would be it.

Lots of lefties are against the EU and relish the prospect of a Corbyn negotiated deal we can get behind.

You have 17m people totally disenfranchised now but do you see them rioting in the streets or witholding their taxes?Beradogs wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 7:00 am It wouldn’t be a narrow remain victory dunners. What you talking about. Remainers lost a democratic vote. Leavers would have won a democratic vote and still lost. It’s like comparing bananas to a table.

So the 17m voters who voted for remain don't feel totally disenfranchised by the way the last 3 1/2 years have panned out? Ok.

Also, I'd argue it wasn't democratic given the lies put out, but that's not really relevant. The remainers are still disenfranchised and they're not rioting.

Re: Jeremy Corbyn & His Fence Sitting Over Brexit Based on Historic Precedent
Both sides put out a bus load of lies. Project fear was probably the biggest plus for the Brexit vote. But that’s par for the course with politics these days. Why mo opinion of the whole bunch is so low.
