Andrew Marr
Why does he bother to ask any questions?when all he does is interrupt, before the person has even got close to answering the question.
He seems to know the answers, so we may as well have a programme called 'Andrew Marr in conversation with himself ' This week as Boris Johnson, next Jeremy Corbyn, 2 weeks time Jo Swinson - he can then dress up as well.
I stopped watching him ages ago, but thought I would see what our current PM had to say. I gave up within 10 minutes, it was just like having an argument, no intellectual input.

You expected a programme featuring the blond buffoon to have intellectual input?Still's Carenae wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:09 am Why does he bother to ask any questions?when all he does is interrupt, before the person has even got close to answering the question.

Unfortunately that is the way of things now. The broadcasters think that they are the story not the people that are being interviewed.

Re: Andrew Marr
I have no time for the style of interviewing used by Neil, Marr, KGM et al. I don't want to listen to an argument, where the interviewer's main objective is to bolster their own profile. I want to listen to a conversation where politicians can develop their arguments and policies and the interviewer is capable of challenging them in a factual and robust way. Listening to most political interviews nowadays just leaves me with a headache.

I don't think he is an albino. He may have a mild form, but being able to cycle in London, his sight must be reasonable and therefore unlikely.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 12:44 pm Did Andy get to the bottom of how many children the albino Buffoon has?

Why? It is appropriate for morons like Johnson to repeat their three word mantras taught to them by their spin doctors regardless of the question?spen666 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 12:09 pmI watched it and thought the same.Still's Carenae wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 11:09 am Why does he bother to ask any questions?when all he does is interrupt, before the person has even got close to answering the question.

Talking over people is just plain bad manners and often happens on BBC Question time.

Re: Andrew Marr
Was a poor interview, gave up watching it, I'm all for holding any politician to account and stop them rambling off at a tangent, but Marr wasn't giving proper time for his questions to be answered, and for far too much time they were both talking at once.

You also ignore the fact he did it to all 3 parties' representatives. Don't let your blind political loyalties let you miss the bigger picture. Its attitudes like yours that allow the broadcasters to get away with this.
When they do it to labour, the sheep tory & lib dems defend it
When they do it to lib dems, the sheep labour & tory followers defend it
When they do it to the tories, the sheep labour & lib dems defend it
The broadcasters use the divide and conquer technique because too many people fail to look at the bigger picture

Re: Andrew Marr
Echo the comments above however, not having seen the others I dont know if he treated them the same. Why didn't the bbc give over the whole programme to each leader instead of trying to cram everything at the end of the show? Crazy scheduling of guests, especially when it's the party leaders being quizzed.

Wasn't party leaders for Lib Dems, was Chukka Ummuna (future leader?) And Sammi Chakrabarti for Labour (Guess Shafow Home Secretary was unavailable)Thor wrote: ↑Sun Dec 01, 2019 4:46 pm Echo the comments above however, not having seen the others I dont know if he treated them the same. On a related note, has much been heard of Kier Starmer in this campaign. I always thought he was a "safe" pair of hands, but he seems to have been very quiet
