Re: Agree?
If that's the case, then ML also made Orient from a Non-league team to an EFL team.
If you blame him for what is going wrong, you must also praise him for the successes
The club are in a far better position than when he joined 2 1/2 years ago

Re: Agree?
I’m pretty sure the players on the pitch are more responsible for our current position than Martin Ling is.
Not saying I’m his biggest advocate but he is rapidly turning into a scapegoat as if every issue can be pinned on him individually.
Personally, I think there are players in this team who need to ask themselves if they really are L2 level, and if so, why haven’t they stepped up.

Re: Agree?
Isn't this the bloke that was taking a break from all things Orient because he was Fatigued and "Oriented out." ?

I think he was taking a break because of the abuse he was getting. He can dish it out, it seems...Top of the West. wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2019 6:03 pm Isn't this the bloke that was taking a break from all things Orient because he was Fatigued and "Oriented out." ?

Re: Agree?
Well I suggest he goes before he wipes out the achievements you mention, in getting us back into this league, by taking us back out of this league again. There's only one place we're heading sadly with the way things are at the moment.

Re: Agree?
His podcast twitter account listed alot of things that he felt the club got wrong over the summer - Which to honest he was right with quite a few of them, there was too much sentiment handed out.
However, what he fails to understand though, is that one of the people responsible for these new contracts to certain players sadly passed away in the summer and was unable to fulfill the vision he was trying to build for the coming season - Don't get me wrong, Martin Ling deserves criticism for certain things that have happened these last few weeks, but Adam is just using Ling as a complete scapegoat for the overall bigger picture. Ling is not completely responsible for every single player who's got a new contract since last April.
However, Adam's always come across as spoilt and a bit of a crybaby - He seems to want the team he follows to do things to his blue print and to do things the way he wants, usually when he doesn't get his way he does things like this and has a bit of a whinge and the toys come out of the pram. I personally don't agree with everything our owners do, but I accept that this is what happens in life - you can't always get your own way.
Adam seems to want everything in football quickly, he's probably got most things in his life quickly - When he comes to football IMO he needs to learn some patience - particularly after the summers circumstances, not sure what his expectations were for this season but it seems he's got to lower them and just have some patience.
He wasn't complaining 5 weeks when we was 12th and won 4-0 at Grimsby.
Last season during the title run in I could sense that he was waiting to pounce had we not won promotion, waiting to say how he was right all along and that how his ego should be rubbed for correctly predicting this.
If he'd released this at the halfway point of the season (even at the end of the season), if we was bottom and winless in two months or even relegated - Then IMO he'd have got his point over alot better and in truth it would've been difficult to argue with him.
Alot of people say they'd accept just stayin up this season - If thats the case, then you have to expect tough periods with loses and low levels of points being gained.
I'm not digging him out, because he raises plenty of valid points and is right with some of those points. But he just needs to relax and understand, that life after the summers events are going to take longer than 6 months to fully heal - There will no doubt be even more bumps in the road.
Martin Ling isn't completely responsible for our poor form recently and for the season as a whole.

Re: Agree?
"Martin Ling has taken a top 8 budget and made us a bottom 6 team with ambitions of mid-table" That's a fact.
He's given contracts to players who shouldn't get them. We haven't bought good enough players to make the team better. We've had to keep players in the starting line up that aren't good enough. He gave Ross the job without thinking about a time frame for replacing him. He replaced him with Carl Fletcher.
A lot of you are reacting to something he hasn't actually said. He raises valid points about how and why we're in this position. The board say we have a top 8 budget and Martin Ling thinks we have a squad good enough to challenge for the playoffs, clearly these aren't true.

Re: Agree?
Once again many of you have shown total intolerance when someone offers a view different to your own.
Adam is right more than he's wrong.
Ling is overrated . He's made many mistakes. Remember he's dof, responsible for all football business.
He's cost the club around ¼ million, paying off the 2 duff manager's he's hired, plus Àlabi who's been a total waste of money. Add an the contract extension s to our players etc.
If you don't like my opinion....well you know what comes next.....

Re: Agree?
.. And don't forget, he allegedly, is earning a mind boggling salary (at least for our size) in a position at the club that isn't totally necessary.
