Seems such an odd appointment given what happened with Fletcher here. Maybe he aced the interview?
Amazingly, Skybet have them 7/1 to finish bottom 2.... we are shorter than that at 9/2 despite us being above them in the table, I can't see them finishing above us.

He spent 5+ seasons as assistant manager under Keith Hill, one of the best lower league managers. They got Rochdale promoted back to L1 in their first season and for the next 3/4 seasons finished in the top half. Ast Managers..... First team coach...always make good 1st team managers then? that's a given then!
1st team Manager experience or is Fletcher more experienced manager........ ?
Didn't look too deeply into his footballing CV due to being Carlisle's problem..... not ours.
Skimmed through article, simply felt similar to our recent debacle.....

Rochdale have punched above their weight for a while.
To be fair if it was a choice between Beech and Fletcher I would have rather had Beech, at least he would have spent the last few years on a real mens training ground instead of being with kids.
Still think it's a bit of an unnecessary gamble though. It would be like an L2 club reasoning that we were brilliant under Slade, so they might as well get Kevin Nugent. The manager job can be quite different.
