Jobi MacAnuff

Post by Stowaway »

What exactly is the issue with him and his injury? Is there any real prospect of seeing him playing for us again? Cos bloody hell, we don’t half miss him. Last season we were noticeably worse in games without him and lo and behold, we’ve been poo poo and onions without him all this season.

I’d give my right arm to have him back right now.

TBH, I can't see him making it back in an Orient shirt this season.

Not sure he wants to play again , once he gets his coaching badges I reckon he will either get the Managers gig or be off elsewhere.

I agree or work on sky on the championship and get a Youth job at reading or somewhere.

Wrote in the programme yesterday that he's just had another operation and it'll be the New year before he can look at a return.

I’ve still not seen what the issue is or what procedures he’s had. Anyone know?

The club have been very quiet about it. The only nugget of information was tacked onto the end of a post-match Ross interview where he's asked about McAnuff and says "he's just had another operation so we won't be seeing him for some time" or words to that effect.

As above I think we may see a farewell cameo appearance but be very surprised if he's able to contribute anything more than that on the pitch :(

Why the silence over it? It’s bizarre.

Don’t have a problem with the club keeping him on in a background role, so long as he contributes, whilst he does his badges. But he should have been replaced as a player.

After a decent mid season break he had his first operation the week before the season started. Now another one. We won’t see him play much at all again.

He is 38, very unlikely to play again, is not a coach and in my view is a complete waste of a a very high wage.

He had an operation in the close season, but he had to have another one recently. I knew that, so it's not exactly a silence is it.

Would you like a Jobi-cam to follow his every movement?

RC as he’s played at the highest level so he understands the game, been coached for a number of years by different coaches and he will have formed an idea of what’s good and what’s not so good. He’s a leader on the pitch so that part comes naturally to him, he therefore has the potential to be a good coach and the potential to be a good manager.

He will return, and I hope he becomes both a good coach and manager.

No.

But he’s the Club Captain, was probably our most influential player last season, without whom we wouldn’t have won the title, and for him to simply disappear without anything more than the odd snippet from the club is bizarre, to say the least. To say we miss his presence is a massive understatement.

Just knowing what the injury is would be nice.

He had his groin operated on, and we know he stepped up he’s training so one can only deduce from the subsequent operation that he broke down in training or was still feeling discomfort. Hopefully it’s a little clean up operation rather than a full on operation like the last one.

Yes I’ve heard ‘groin injury’ before. But that’s a pretty big area and very imprecise with regards to the problem.

Compare this to when someone has a hamstring tear - we’re told what grade it is, likely period out etc. We haven’t had any of that.

Which leads to people making stuff up like Thor has just done.
