You don’t know me , so why make it personal when the topic under discussion is the fiscal (money) proposals of labours manifesto.
It is investment. He's not just going on a shopping spree. Spending to create growth is important if we ever want to grow our economy.

Ahh I get you now. Its a discussion you want.

In that case let me try and decipher your angry abusive rant and I'll get back to you to see how the discussion can be furthered.

Sorry if I have touched a nerve. I am sure you will still have plenty of money once we all vote Labour in.

So what if this person does leave the country? Do you think we won't be able to cope without him?

Redo, he would be one of droves. Bleeding the wealthy who as I stated already pay a disproportionate chunk of our taxes is a failed policy. They simply relocate , take their wealth with them and the result is massive job loss. Not only do the mega rich pay a fortune in taxes but when they flaunt their wealth the treasury benefits by a further 20%.
For the benefit of prestige I will add that unfortunately I am not in that bracket.

If the rich pay a disproportionate chunk of tax it's only because they have disproportionate wealth.

There is however nothing more stomach churning than to see a lickspittle forelock tugging simpleton venerating the rich.

He can't take his many properties or his many business premises with him can he. All he can take is some numbers sitting on a computer which benefit us how?

If he or anyone else doesn't want to pay their fair share of tax, so be it, let him and them go. We can't make them love this country and want to do their bit for it. People will buy their mobile phones from someone else. He's not creating anything.

He's not going to give it up, he's going to take it to Monaco with him.

No , he said he will relocate, not give up his business . He doesn’t have to physically move his entire business in order to circumvent the domicile tax rules.

Unless I've missed something big, it seems that they're proposing to raise the top rate of Income tax to 50% - so these wealthy folk (who can afford it, one assumes) are prepared to move themselves and their families for the sake of a few % points ? And where are they going to go ?

https://taxfoundation.org/top-individua ... ant%20role.

There're not that many countries in Europe with dramatically lower Top rates - Latvia, Estonia Czech Republic and Hungary are at the bottom of the list, but that looks, from their thresholds, like they have a pretty flat structure. I'm sure the super rich will love living somewhere like that.

Is it about Corporation tax that you're worried ? We're already pretty much the lowest - so again, where are these companies going to pack up and f*** off to? That's going to be worth stopping doing business here, is it?

Red o, so you would be in favor of every worker paying 5 pence in the pound extra, on the basis that it would hardly effect those on low wages. As a retiree who no longer pays an obscene amount in tax , were I selfish I would advocate not only the rich but everyone paying much more in tax as it wouldn’t affect me, but high taxation just doesn’t work , it removes incentives and encourages the wealthy to relocate with accompanying job losses. The top 5% pay half of our taxes , think about it.
