It's here. The one we've all been dreaming of.
How can anyone read this and decide not to vote for it?

Why was their offering in 2017 not a real choice?Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 2:06 pm A real choice for the first time in my lifetime.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
Only a choice if you are left wing. The right have a choice between the Tories who are now fiscally liberal as well as socially liberal so not conservative at all or Farage who is not even standing in my constituency. May have to vote green and try and save the planet.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 2:06 pm A real choice for the first time in my lifetime.

I dont remember their manifesto being that radical in 2017. Have no faith that this country will vote for it anyway.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 2:10 pmWhy was their offering in 2017 not a real choice?Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 2:06 pm A real choice for the first time in my lifetime.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
That's the thing. Nobody will read it. It could be the most deliverable and bestest manifesto in the whole wide world, but if Corbyn remains unable to connect with target voters then none of this matters.
Watch how the Tories react to this. If they continue to push Brexit as the priority over domestic policies, then that will be because their research is telling them that the Labour message isn't landing.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
Even if half of it isnt deliverable, still better than another 5 years of Tories. Clearly goodies vs baddies for me.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
The NHS is, by some measures, overtaking Brexit as the issue that concerns voters the most in this election. However, the evidence is that Johnson and Corbyn are both roughly equally trusted on that particular issue. Distressing for Labour, who have long been considered to be playing a home game on that subject.Dunners wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 2:18 pm That's the thing. Nobody will read it. We must remember that "Trust" has two main components: how people view your intentions, and how they view your competence. It's all well and good saying that JC has good intentions, and a surprisingly large number of people agree with this - but vanishingly few have a positive view of his ability to actually deliver. And IMVHO that isn't an unreasonable view. Having said that, his true role as a talisman/figurehead may absolve him of lots of the responsibility for delivery - but it's generally not a healthy situation if your leader (in whom much authority is vested) can't actually lead very well. And that problem is magnified when in government, not just opposition.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
Agree that domestic issues matter more to most people. But most people do not matter in this election. That's the thing.
You're also right to point out the public perception of Corbyn's ability as a leader. That will be a crucial issue for target voters if Labour are to stand a chance of forming a government.

No. But it's a trope that sticks in the minds of the hard of thinking.
Monitor Prez Biz's (and a few others) posts over the coming days and you'll see it repeated.

Who cares it is the first step in the transitional programme to win over workers to the cause of socialism and than on to full communism.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Thu Nov 21, 2019 2:53 pm But what is actually likely to happen? Inflation?

Re: The Labour Manifesto
That isn't due to Jeremy's shortcomings.
It's due to the constant anti-semite/IRA-supporting/poppy-hating/Commie-hat etc etc messages forced onto them for the past 4 years.
Whoever was in charge and came up with a lefty manifesto like this would be subject to the same character assasination. Miliband wasn't anywhere near as adventurous as this and he still got the anti-semitic attacks on his father and Marxist accusations. Even celebrities like Brand and Church who dare to offer up a left of centre viewpoint suffer the same fate.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
“How can people not vote for it”. Well it has about as much credibility as the offers of investment I get from a series of Nigerian scammers. Total bullshit, and just offering all these goodies in attempt to dupe people and buy their votes.
Only the village idiot would think these proposals would ever be implemented, and even if comrade corbyn was remotely sincere who do you think would pay for them.
He aims to tax the rich till they bleed , completely overlooking the fact that the top 1% pay 27% of our taxes.
High earners and top businessmen would leave in droves relocating elsewhere in Europe with the end product of nil tax receipts from them.
Typical was the comment of the owner of phones 4 us who said that in recent years he had paid £360,000,000 in tax, and that in the nightmare event of corbyn getting in he would relocate outside Britain.
Vote labour if you want unions striking , bringing the country to a halt, bankrupting the economy like the last labour administration, and as Maxie boy says, leading us to full blown communism.
Not for me, Ive got a fully functioning brain.

Re: The Labour Manifesto
Prestige, that’s the most stupid comment you could possibly make. How do you think all those proposals are going to be paid for, from corbyns money tree Forrest . Unless of course you are trying to have a dig at me personally and have a hidden agenda.
You don’t know me , so why make it personal when the topic under discussion is the fiscal (money) proposals of labours manifesto.

Nothing personal, your comments are all about money. Do you know how money really works? Dare to dream!
