Re: Carl Fletcher Yes/No
The longer this goes on, the more convinced I'm becoming that Fletcher was stitched up by the old guard who disliked having their cushy existence threatened

Re: Carl Fletcher Yes/No
Now that’s funny the only difference between then and now was he smiled back then.
I don’t think he was stitched up, I think he threw the sledgehammer down and alienated a lot of people. What’s the book called? How to win friends and influence people?

Maybe he wasn't 'stitched up', but the old guard may well have breathed a sigh of relief that their 'cushy existence' was no longer threatened.
I'm convinced more than ever that this club needs an experienced manager along with his assistant if he requests. Paul Tisdale is being mentioned again on the news feed. Why not?

That's really funny, to be fair.
He looks a totally different person. That must have been the person Ling, Porter and Travis all saw and interviewed. I can't understand how he goes from that to what we saw after arriving at the club?

We'll never know.
Unless the next guy comes in and fails to win over the staff....

To state the obvious: his stock will begin to rise unless we gather some points and play with belief soon.

Re: Carl Fletcher Yes/No
I do believe that will happen Jabo as the team settles down once more. Morale is low, confidence is low and a bit of arms around he shoulder will do wonders to kick start a new beginning.
Like I said on another thread this team needs a bit of a team bonding session, which as we are owned by American based owners I’m surprised that this has not been instigated already or is being planned. They love a team bonding session over the pond.

Re: Carl Fletcher Yes/No
Didn’t want him in the first place, but I have every sympathy for him. He came in and saw that things needed to change, that many players were not league 2 standard , that fitness levels were not up to scratch and change was needed.
Talk about him having a sledgehammer approach is nonsense as the transfer window is closed till January and he couldn’t do anything now. He was outlining his plans, but obviously certain players and the hierarchy felt threatened and closed ranks.
I think the way ling and co publicly bad mouthed him shows a distinct lack of class, and really let the club down.
I would love to here fletchers side of events.

Re: Carl Fletcher Yes/No
Even if he could, he is hardly gonna say he is at fault, is he.... he'll just say that he tried to get us round to his way of thinking but failed.
Perhaps he tried to use his personality at first (lol), when that didn't work he tried pulling rank only to discover that the coaching staff and players actually had more power than him.
I do believe he was mainly at fault, a more seasoned manager might have had the experience to be more subtle about it and be patient. But according to Travis it seemed that with Fletcher incentivised for the playoffs, and us being only a couple of points off it when he joined, he tried to force through the improvements.
