Re: Ling and Alabi
Yes, give him his due Ling had quite a good game on Saturday. (and given his small stature he is good in the air. ) Had Judd put in the same performance this board would have been going bonkers.

He’s been absolute dog dirt.
Re: Ling and Alabi
Genuinely cannot think of any player that has had a good season, ranging from bad to average.
Think Happe and Wright come out top, Wright's goals have been a bonus. Wikinson has been good in the last few matches he played, but not good in his first matches, if he picks up where he left off he is a contender.
Angol has looked good despite a real lack of service, but he has been injured. JMD, Dennis have been disappointing. Brophy has one game where he torments the opposition, then several where he does nothing.
Let us face it, would Ling be getting into top 7 League Two side? We need to assess every first choice player against this and if the answer is no we should get someone else in for the first choice spot.
One of Ling or Judd should be going at the end of the season and us getting in a decent experienced player.

Re: Ling and Alabi
Wright’s goals mask his piss poor performances, whichever midfield role he’s played.
Happe is the one standout for me. And he was on the bench for most of the season.
Widdowson has been his usual steady self as well, I guess.

This reply more or less backs up what I'm saying.RedO wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 7:14 amOrient Punxx wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 6:27 am Although not saying that much / Ling is clearly player of the season so far.![]()

Too obvious isnt it !! We keep being told as to how great a coach Ross is, yet he cannot even seem to see the obvious !Thor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 6:53 pm Personally the best way to utilise JA is a more direct playing style where he’s running forwards on to balls, not having to turn etc so he can use his pace and power more effectively. The fact we don’t play that way is a shame for him. He did it at Chester in that style and his recent goal was exactly as I’ve described.
I and some others have been saying this for a while now, twice I have posted a video on this forum of that game against Chester and said the same thing that Alabi is best running down the middle onto balls put through or over the defence. Here we go again !
Chester FC striker James Alabi scores 4 goals in first 45 minutes

Agree and I do not think that Ross is the ''Master'' coach and tactician that he is talked up as.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 7:10 pmTypical Orient not playing players to their strengths .Thor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 6:53 pm Personally the best way to utilise JA is a more direct playing style where he’s running forwards on to balls, not having to turn etc so he can use his pace and power more effectively. Also CF came in and wanted to do things too quickly, takes time to improve fitness levels and change things around. JE did it right, got the players and coaching staff behind him and played players in their best positions.
