EDO of course they did, we’ve just come through an absolute calamity of a period this past month and I’m amazed that the players were able to deliver what they did considering the confidence is absolutely shot to bits.

Onwards and upwards.

Is it the players? Is it the manager (and therefore the tactics?

Our defensive frailties and shortcomings have been highlighted elsewhere as has the lack of a decent CM and ball-winner (we've never got over losing Vincelot) however I have different concerns which were particularly highlighted yesterday.

They had two big strong centre backs so what did we do? Lump every single ball up to Harrold who got battered all afternoon. Whether it was Brill just hoofing the ball up-field - even from hand, or our defence just doing the same instead of playing out, the person next to me said every time "ball's coming back; ball's coming back". And it did - every time. Maybe the formation should be 5-5 (five at the back and five up-front as we clearly don't need or use a midfield)?

They were also very slow - all Brophy and JMD had to do (and Ling as well) was run round the back of them but they didn’t even try. After a very short time of this happening over and over again, Ross should have been going apoplectic and screaming at them not to keep doing it.

Albert Einstein said the definition of insanity is doing something over and over again and expecting a different result. It doesn't matter who is the manager if the players are beyond understanding that playing hoof-ball when you don't have an effective target person (and even if you do) is not going to get us results in this league or indeed, in any other
