Re: Fletcher SACKED, so to speak.
That probably wouldn’t have happened if someone of strong character who could immediately impose them self , had been appointed . How CF impressed so much as his interview is beyond me from what i saw and heard . He was no Tim Flowers

Re: Fletcher SACKED, so to speak.
Too much weight was given to the interviewing process rather than the track record of the candidates. When Porter was on the Orient Hour I put a question on here asking why so much weight was put on the interview but sadly it wasn't asked.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 4:42 pmNo disrespect to Porter but he shouldn't, no. I've my doubts over Lingy as well given his track record. I'd have much more faith in T&T recruiting the right person - pretty much nailed on that they'll come back over and carry out proper interviews this time around.
Re: Fletcher SACKED, so to speak.
If we wanted a gamble, Jabo player manager would have been good, even at 40 years old he would have been better than Alabi.
Make it happen!
Make it happen!

Posted on the Bournemouth AFC forum.
I didn't expect him to be gone so quick. It took Eddie Howe 7 years to figure Carl was not up to it, and it took Orient just 29 days.

Quite like the idea of Tisdale now he is available. If so no need to dipsy doodle, just approach him and see what he thinks.

Re: Fletcher sacked?
I was at that game and tweeted that there was something wrong - take no pleasure in posting below (actually I do because LOL had one of his rants)The Big Shot wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 3:30 pm You could tell something was badly wrong after the Morecambe game, on Sunday the players didn't seem to give a sh*t - Which is something I never thought I'd see from this team, many of them worked so hard last season to win us the league.
We all knew this would be a gamble and its not paid off - At least our board have held their hands up and have accepted they made a mistake.
I like what Martin Ling has done so far since he came back, but he is now under some pressure to sort this out.

Seems the board need to be a bit more hands-on and take some of the power out of Ling's hands. Between the FA Cup income loss and whatever settlement to sack Fletcher that's funds we needed for the squad.

Tisdale had a team of coaches that followed him to MK dongs and were sacked with him.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:18 pm Quite like the idea of Tisdale now he is available. If so no need to dipsy doodle, just approach him and see what he thinks.
Still think any manager would have to tow the line and accept the current backroom, presumably we gave our word to Ross he would keep his job if he took the top role and it didn't work out.

That undertaking would have been made in good faith before this utter shambles which he looks to have had a hand in.eagwgw wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:34 pmTisdale had a team of coaches that followed him to MK dongs and were sacked with him.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:18 pm Quite like the idea of Tisdale now he is available. The next manager needs to be able to bring in his own team. We have backed ourselves into a ridiculous position where we limit our choices and end up taking what fits into the current set up and not what is best for the club.

Just to say, thanks Kent and Nigel for acting quickly to rectify a mistake. Well done! I have tickets for Saturday and now I’m looking forward to the game. COYOs!

Re: Fletcher SACKED, so to speak.
I hope the rumours about Fletcher & Webb falling out are not true but if it is the case it illustrates the folly of insisting that the new Head Coach had to retain the existing staff. The new appointment, whoever it may be, must be given a free hand if the Board truly believe that they have got the right man to take the club forward.Thor wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:07 pm Been offline all afternoon getting my motor fixed, just logged in and wow it's all gone pete tong.
I'm not surprised, it was clear he lost the players from their languid performances, if the rumours are true of a bust up with danny the air at the training ground must have been toxic.
His tactics were inept, his lack of personality projection towards the players would have been an issue, and let's be honest not once either pitch side or in interviews did he look happy.
A poor appointment and let's hope that Danny, Jobi and Ross can give back the players the confidence, belief and the fun factor to their game.

This^. Absolutely crucial the new appointee has that option available to him if he needs it.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:38 pmThat undertaking would have been made in good faith before this utter shambles which he looks to have had a hand in.eagwgw wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:34 pmTisdale had a team of coaches that followed him to MK dongs and were sacked with him.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:18 pm Quite like the idea of Tisdale now he is available. Come on guys, stop speculating! If we'd have known why he was sacked we'd all be millionaires so to speak

He got the boot.
Blimey I'm shocked.Didn't expect this.
Still no grief at work, they haven't noticed Orient got knocked out by an 8th tier side, they are to busy worrying about the Tottenhams and the Arsenals.

Feel really sorry for him because it was clearly nerves and anxiety. Ling is the one that needs to go. Utterly useless.

Don't want to throw blame about but I do feel sorry for him.
Will he get a payoff?

Interesting theory posted on FB that he may have been on 1 month probation, would explain the timing if nothing elseHowling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 6:35 pmDon't want to throw blame about but I do feel sorry for him.

Re: Fletcher SACKED, so to speak.
Probation period sounds like bollox to me, at the time he signed we did all the due diligence, so to speak, so we must have had lots of conviction in him.
If that is true, then expect to see Fletcher speak freely about his time here, as he would not be bound by anything. If he wants to be a manager in future he needs to show there were some good excuses for what happened, he is pretty much finished now. What team would give him another chance?
Prospective managers might think the club are a bit trigger happy now, I am sure they would not sign a deal that allows them to be sacked after a month.

What back room staff did Fletcher have? He was in charge of loan players! Since when does that include back room staff?redintheface wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 5:47 pmI hope the rumours about Fletcher & Webb falling out are not true but if it is the case it illustrates the folly of insisting that the new Head Coach had to retain the existing staff.
