Fletch

Post by Orient Punxx »

Hopefully it will be immaterial but please do not give this clown any money to spend in January.

Really thought we were going somewhere after Ross’ good work.

Please can we just turn the clock back to the Grimsby game and pay this plank off.

Wishful thinking.

This Ross is the Messiah business is bizarre. He won a few at the end but for the rest of his tenure was hopeless and as tactically clueless as Fletcher is now. Remember Macclesfield and Swindon?

Have we really got to do a Steve Davis, no win in 16 before we bale out.

His win ratio with Plymouth is now looking quite attractive.

True and what happened? He asked to step down, the pressure was released and I’d say that both Ross and the team had more freedom which resulted in those massive improvements and wins. I would have still replaced him.

Sorry but Embleton was no more the long term answer than Fletcher appears to be.

Ross was never the answer to our managerial position. Credit to him for realising that and stepping down. As tough as it was he should never have been put in that position, so now after an average start with a few decent results we are stuffed with a manager who has less recent experience than Ross.

Bizarre

All we can hope for is that Fletcher is a quick learner and with the experience of every game we play gains the basic tools of his trade and gets it together before any lasting damage is done.

This.

If anything, it was worse under Ross. He’d been with that set of players for a long time before he was made manager. Fletcher has only just come in

Sounds like he'll need to learn a bit of humility first and work with those around him to get a bit of rapport before ripping up the tactics and imposing his own ideas. Last time I heard that going on was Moyes at Man Utd and it didn't end well for him either.

Would somebody who's been out of managing and coaching for so long even know who to bring in .?

If we do another Steve Davis and don't win for 16 games then we're basically looking at being back in the National League for next season.

Nah only numpties, Bromley was bad no doubt about it we were poor that night, but whatever bromley did came off it was just one of those games. Salford came and did a truly professional job on us that day, full credit to them. What did we have something like 75% possession and unfortunately we never held the keys to unlock their defence.

Neither is a slight on Justin, just two teams who were very effective on the day. After Salford what did we do something like 5 games without conceding and I think that was the game that won us the league cos after that we ground results out when things did not go our way, that's credit to the manager, staff and team.

Yesterday is on a whole new level of low.

When RE handed over the team we were 2 points from the play offs looking up.

We are now 7 points off the play offs however, they have a game in hand on us and the team above them two games in hand.

We are 7 points off bottom looking down. In fact in the three league games Fletcher has taken only Walsall have a worse set of results over us. Worrying.

Not true after Salford we lost to Maidenhead and Ebbsfleet 1-0/2-0 drew with Hartlepool 1-1 beat Wrexham and just about won against Brackley
