We should have gone for somebody like him in the first place but now it's too late . We've made our mistake and must live with it for a good while longer . Just hope it doesn't cost us our place in the league .Disoriented wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:15 am Is available. Get him and his beret in the building now.

I know where you are coming from, but do you trust Carling to get the right players in in January? How long has Ling ignored our chronic midfield problem?RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:32 amWe should have gone for somebody like him in the first place but now it's too late . Re: Paul Tisdale
This is concerning me also. We have been crying out for a ball winning midfielder since Adams left and it’s a shame that Mr Ling can’t seem to see it or want to address it, it’s like he has blinkers on. With the players in the squad that we have, a ball winner is a prerequisite so as to get the best out of them.RedDwarf 1881 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:18 amNo , Going by what I've seen so far I have no confidence in him .Disoriented wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:34 amI know where you are coming from, but do you trust Carling to get the right players in in January? Look at the facts, JMD, Brophy, Dennis, Dayton Wright, Gorman all flair players with the greatest of respect not a tackle in them and if that player came in then their flair would shine through knowing that should they lose the ball they have the enforcer to win it back once again.

Re: Paul Tisdale
Gorman has a tackle in him but the ball has normally long gone as he clatters into the opposition.

Re: Paul Tisdale
His timing can be questionable at times however, I’d have him in the team as part of a three.
Re: Paul Tisdale
Don't think it'll happen, not yet anyway. It might be worth sounding out other managers indirectly. I am inclined to think Fletcher should have more time. Tisdale might go somewhere else in the meantime, but that is life.
There are another 8 games left between now and Jan 1, by that time we might know for sure and if a new man is to come in he still gets a transfer window.
I sense that a properly proven manager like Tisdale might be able to command a better salary though, at some point we have to look at Ling + manager salary and ask whether that is value for money now. An option is, we could re-organise this and get a go-between between the board and a better manager on a slimmed-down role, or even to promote Macklin, get a manager in beneath him and eliminate the role entirely.

Eh?UpminsterO wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 11:43 am The management structure is what it is and will never change
The new manager CF fits that structure and if he as eventually forced out due to results then as sure as the sky is blue and the sun rises everyday we would get a similar person
If directors are stating the expierence of CF is a risk but an acceptable risk then how or why would they ever choose anyone if needed that was not of that profile - without destroying their template of choice.
It's a bit like changing the exam question to fit the answer of a student to satisfy the student

Re: Paul Tisdale
Any decent experienced Manager will want to bring his own coaches etc with him, which is why we’ve been saddled with Fletcher who was probably a cheap option.
Personally I think we’re stuck him for a while yet as it would cost a few bob to pay him off now and ML wouldn’t look too good with this appointment.
It will be interesting to see if results don’t improve between now and January, whether the board back Fletcher with funds to allow him to bring in his own players.

Re: Paul Tisdale
Yes, I was wondering about that myself . Going by our last two performances the players don't want to play for him so does the board still give Fletcher a budget to strengthen the squad . We'll wait and see.

Re: Paul Tisdale
Marsh is a deep holding player,he is not less strong then anyone else in our midfield, just because he is 5ft 4inch,whats that about ? but we badly need someone to drive us forward and get at teams.

Mind you, a monkey would have more charisma that Fletcher.
