Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
Well as far as I am concerned being a loan manager, and how on earth can that justify a full time job, does not meet the requirements necessary to manage the orient.
I hope I am just as wrong as when early in his career I thought Ronaldo was a one trick pony, but the evidence thus far is that it wasn’t a brilliant choice, especially if we actually had to pay compensation to Bournemouth.

Early on in his career I had serious doubts about Messi.Redcard wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:14 pm Well as far as I am concerned being a loan manager, and how on earth can that justify a full time job, does not meet the requirements necessary to manage the orient.

It's not a rubbish point. He was competing against people with credentials so why do you think he would be hired over those other candidates if his interview and CV lacked the creds he needed to succeed?Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:05 pmFixed. 2) its not an argument about old school v trendy progressives. What we have is a guy who was coaching at U23 level at Bournemouth and went on to become their loans manager. It's about lack of credentials.

Why he was hired despite a complete lack of credentials is a complete mystery too me. He wasn't rated highly enough to run the Bournemouth U23's.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:19 pmIt's not a rubbish point. Will be interesting to see how Adams gets on at Morecambe, but he will be on a much smaller budget than he would be here.
Surely his Plymouth experience might be more relevant as to what he could achieve.
In any case I am not too sure there will be much read-across although no doubt if Campbell bombs at Southend people will be using that as evidence he would have not done it here.
Perhaps Fletcher was simply the highest qualified chap who could work within the club structure we have here.

In the end everyone submits to my relentless logic. Don't feel too bad about it.

Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
The next appointment at the club was always going to change the team's direction. It was still playing largely JE's way and the results don't lie. It was never going to be good enough.
A different appointment, like Adams or Campbell, possibly would have been more revolutionary and got just as many players backs up as our man may have. You can't make an omlette without breaking eggs.
Just because he's mild mannered does not mean he's soft - and it doesn't mean the players can't play for him. If a collective of them start to hold back a few percent and the results start going wrong, ultimately resulting in a new chief, then we will be in bigger trouble because the lunatics would have then taken over our assylum.

Fair enough. Hes got 2 more games to come good.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:10 pm Give the guy a chance FFS , if he has been at some players throats then maybe he has got a bit of passion after all and shouldn’t be judged on his performance being interviewed by DD.
The board need to back him and let him bring in some of his own players before we judge him.
Having said that, we dare not lose on Sunday.

Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
IF it's true and Danny Webb has had a bust up with Fletcher over tactics then he can go. Fletcher is the manager, he should be free to come in and implement whatever he wants for his team to suceed or fail. Webb has a job for life as long as Ling is there, this is always going to cause friction when a new manager comes in and has to work with someone else's staff.
Let's not forget the interim set up's record before Embleton decided he didn't fancy it anymore and their fantastic tactical decisions.

I think he’ll get until the end of this season Maxy, giving him the chance in January to bring a few in.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 5:53 pmFair enough. Personally I also think it’s the players themselves who also need to perform and maybe Fletcher is being hindered by a lack of recruitment last summer. Some players just aren’t good enough for the step up from NL to L2.
Mind you Maxy, lose on Sunday and there will be Meltdown on here

Agreed regarding player recruitment but that can be traced back to the poor decision to apppoint an interim manager.Cheshunto wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 6:07 pmI think he’ll get until the end of this season Maxy, giving him the chance in January to bring a few in.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 5:53 pmFair enough. Re the players. Also agree that a fair number of them are not up to L2.
Don't worry about Sunday we will PUMP them.

What do you reckon the job ‘loan manager’ actually entails?Redcard wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:14 pm Well as far as I am concerned being a loan manager, and how on earth can that justify a full time job, does not meet the requirements necessary to manage the orient.

Could well be justified then. I back the manager and hope that his vision works for us however, even I can’t deny we have played poorly since his appointment. I hope he gets it right, as our youth team should be good enough to beat them.

Last night Carlisle showed what needs to be done, and that was away from home. We need a result like that, badly.
