Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
So the Orient hour discussed the following rumours, I had seen point 1, but not the others. Let’s take this rumours conversation forwards. What have you heard and what do you believe is real or just a rumour.
1) the club shut this board down - the Orient hour did not believe this one
2) senior players have had a fall out with fletch - they did believe this one
3) Danny webb had a bust up to Fletch over tactics which nearly came close to blows - mixed views on this with the panel leaning towards it happening
4) senior orient players and other players at other clubs were shocked by fletch’s Appointment - they did believe this one as well
Personally points 2 and 3 happen all the time during a season along with players fighting, but it’s kept in house, dealt with and they all move onwards together. 30 blokes under each other’s toes day after day in a physical sport loaded with testosterone will explode from time to time.
Interesting that these rumours are flying around (apparently) and if true might answer why we’ve been so bad so far under fletch, just saying.

Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
Rumours. But when he was appointed I think I commented about how our senior players and management would view working under somebody with limited experience. Ok when it’s a internal appointment like Ross. But not an outsider who hasn’t recently even been an assistant.
I would not be surprised at dissection in the ranks. Ross reporting to someone with even less recent experience than him.
Me. I would not be a happy bunny, made worse by crappy interviews.
Still he is what we have so let’s hope it works

Even if they are all made up lies I'm going to accept them and believe them.
Should convincing evidence be presented to the contrary I will still believe the lies. Toodle Pip. Vote Boris the white haired liar!!

Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
Have we heard yet why Fletcher was appointed?
It seems a strange choice, considering his lack of experience and lack of success
As for the rumours....no one knows

Why do they get referred as you would an official group? Do they have a constitution?

Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
What is this obsession you have with his "lack of success" that came a long time ago under different circumstances at a club and with a relatively small sample size? I've made this point before: just because he hasn't lead a team since then he hasn't been cryogenically frozen and just reappeared. He would have been building up his experience and working hard to improve himself to the point that he would no be better suited to a head coach job - hence how we was offered the Orient head coach job.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 12:02 pm Have we heard yet why Fletcher was appointed?

I will say though that it's interesting to see that Derek Adams has come in at Morecambe and it will be interesting to see what he manages to achieve there. Doesn't necessarily guarantee he would have done it with us, but a reasonable indicator on what we could have had.

Can you ask Gatsby if he enjoyed himself at Solihull? Certainly looked like itAndy Gilson wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 12:54 pmI've missed you Max. Intentionally or not you've made me laugh with that one.

1) is just too stupid and paranoid it's barely worth wasting time on. Anyone who even for a second thought this was the case needs to sort themselves out.Thor wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 10:02 am

2) I can see this happening. If Fletcher was hired on the basis of being a progressive and forward thinking coach this may not mesh well with old school set in their ways pros. You see on here it's hard enough for older boarders adjusting to how things are today. As far as I'm concerned if this rumour is true it's the pros should be looking to adapt positively to change not crying like babies when they suddenly don't like how things are being done.
3) I don't see this being true at all
4) Makes total sense, but probably over dramatised.

2) its not an argument about old school v trendy progressives. What we have is a guy who was coaching at U23 level at Bournemouth and went on to become their loans manager. It's about lack of credentials.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 1:41 pm1) is just too stupid and paranoid it's barely worth wasting time on. Great ain’t it. Always good for a smile, though in this case maybe the auto correct has a point.

The lack of credentials thing is surely debunked by the fact that with a lack of credentials he would not have passed the recruitment process.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 2:36 pm2) its not an argument about old school v trendy progressives. Re: Rumours - as per the Orient Hour
Give the guy a chance FFS , if he has been at some players throats then maybe he has got a bit of passion after all and shouldn’t be judged on his performance being interviewed by DD.
The board need to back him and let him bring in some of his own players before we judge him.
Having said that, we dare not lose on Sunday.
