Ask Martin, who should be considering his position.

Carling out.

That's what we'd all like to know . Ross had the same players playing far better than the crap served up by Fletcher.

Certainly has been an uninspiring start but it must be remembered Fletcher only took over on the 16th October! Although there are a number of issues involved , I think a good deal of the concern stems from the initial hope/ expectation amongst many fans that the new Head Coach would be someone with a bit more experience and some tangible “ success” in their track record ( e.g. someone in the JE mould). Fletcher being appointed was unexpected and somewhat baffling given the list of “ names” out there who were considered - in the minds of fans at least - as potential candidates and therefore there is the big first hurdle of “ he’s not the right man for the job” to be overcome. People are keen to have their opinions validated, so these early disappointing results are fuel to the fire unfortunately.

I don’t think it’s baffling at all. He’s got a good playing pedigree, he’s dipped his toe in management then gone away and developed behind the scenes. He’s still a young man and hungry to be successful. He hasn’t got a string of sackings to his name.

But the first couple of games have not been good against two very poor sides. Yes some people are overreacting but I share their concerns.

Yes - an accurate summary - the public are really a pain
No. I don’t think the public are a pain - anyone is entitled to their views and it may turn out that those who think Fletcher is not the right man for the job are proven to be correct - I just think it’s far too soon to make any such judgement and that a lot of the reaction now is based upon an “I told you so” way of thinking.

If the team were implementing a new style then we should all have patience. Yesterday it seemed like we had a load of strangers with no real game plan ,I hope that is wrong.

As we are a club that had just got itself back into the EFL. We were not exactly setting the league on fire. Fortunately we had started started turning things around result wise, the board then decide that the new manager should be someone with virtually no experience bar a few months at Plymouth. This is IMO a huge gamble. The club are hoping we have the next Dean Smith in our hands and the odds are probably not. We are in no position to take that gamble at the moment. The appointment should have gone to an experienced manager at this level and not the Bournemouth U23/loan manager ( is loan manger even a real thing???)
The last few results are poor but not what I have based my thoughts on. We don’t want to be struggling again in this league and we should not be letting this club be a learning curve for new want to be managers.

I thought Fletch’s post-BHA yoof interview with Dulcet was a bit better, but still needs some work to reach an acceptable standard.

He won't be here long so no need to bother polishing up his media persona.
