What’s that, the 2nd or 3rd time he’s mentioned the lack of time he’s had with the players on the training pitch?

If only they gave him that week :)

I don't think I'll ever feel this man knows what he's talking about.
Terrible choice imo

"There still areas we are looking at". If Ling doesn't know by now where are weak, then he doesn't deserve to be in his job.
The first thing I would have done on taking the job, is to look at all the match videos played so far this season. It wouldn't take
him long to see where the weak links are.

Listen to the full interview back - he had 3 hours last week and only 2 1/2 hours this.

And I’m sure his assistant could assist in this area too. But he does need to assess for himself and judge how they fit into the style of play he wants. Not unreasonable to assume he needs a bit more time in training and on the pitch to see the strengths and weaknesses in the squad. He has yet to see Angol, Ling, Turley, McAnuff and very little of Wilkinson. All potential starters at some point.

Videos are OK but like watching games on TV, you can miss players movements off the ball, looking at only a part of the whole.

He needs to watch games live.

Why are you laughing Thor?
Do you think he does know what he's talking about?
Do you think he appears knowledgeable and competent?
Does it make you happy that we have a head coach who is incompetent?

Probably laughing because you seem to know more than a guy with his background. I have no doubt he knows what he is talking about and has knowledge in abundance. As to competence, that will emerge over time.

This is from the same post match interview after the Carlisle game. Don't try the man fir the same crime twice.

It's just a poor local journalist holding back some quotes for later in the week.

I believe it will take Fletcher and Ling two transfer windows for Fletcher to get close to the squad he wants. However, he may be able to improve the players and positively adjust tactics in the meantime. Time will tell.

Unfortunately time is a precious commodity that some of our boarders seem unwilling to offer to the new Head Coach!😟

Give him a chance...not one to be a panelist on Question Time though on present evidence. Perhaps if he works more than three and a half hours a week it will get better and we could always book him a space on R***r's "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Simple path to greatness.....

Why?

He hasn't walked into a team that's been relegated, or on the back of a huge run of defeats. This is a squad that has just won the title in the division below. Wholesale changes are not needed.

The way he keeps going on about their being lots of stuff that needs to be worked on is a real kick in the teeth to last seasons success.

Dont think I inferred that they were, but every new manager wants to amass a squad that he is happy with and changes will be made to strengthen us - hopefully.
