First time I've heard him. He doesn't look that comfortable or convincing.

Re: Carl Fletcher interview
You're right it is pathetic critising only 2 games in.
If the 1st half is anything to go by, we could be in for a good season.

Re: Carl Fletcher interview
If we regularly replicate our first half I’d be a happy bunny. Amy more of our second half stuff and I’ll not bother with my 8 hour round trip to games. On balance one point against a poor side and I’m thinking why bother, he’s in his honeymoon period. Hope he uses it well

Haha it wasn't good was it. Think get Wilkinson & Angol back & it will make a big difference. Start taking chances & taking the pressure off in other areas of the park.

Re: Carl Fletcher interview
CF, early days, but at this stage, does not come across to me as a very convincing choice for our new manager.Chief crazy horse wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 10:55 pm First time I've heard him. He doesn't look that comfortable or convincing.
Just seems to me as a very laid back character, without much passion, drive or enthusiasm about him.
Perhaps its me, I was brought up on the type of managers of years ago who lived for the game and let the supporters and players know it, Shankly for just one example ! Having said all that, I shall be absolutely delighted to be proved wrong.

One too many. Can't stand people who say that, as if we are thick or they're not explaining what they are trying to say coherently.

Like I said. Like I said. Like I said. Honestly, he comes across as a footballer clone. Very little personality. If he has one. Perhaps it’s nerves but I just don’t get this appointment. Anyway. We will see.

Perhaps someone could ask Mr Fletcher to say: "My pie has five eyes." This will determine categorically whether he is from London or Dorset.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 7:35 am He is a Londoner and if he uses phases they were derived from that place - you lot should know that, you are in London

Re: Carl Fletcher interview
Not talking about the game, more the way he handles interviews. No excuse for professional athletes who travel as part of their job in luxury coaches and decent hotels to use this as an excuse for what looked to me like a fitness issue and total capitulation in the second half. I don’t expect or want a manager to publicly bollock a player but come on.
As for the game, fantastic first half in the main. Carlisle looked poor. Second half Carlisle looked like a different team, we looked shot. They upped their game, we fell apart.

However, lots and lots of “you know”. Maybe he can iron that out, you know!

Re: Carl Fletcher interview
I’m not bothered about his interviewing technique and he strikes me as being a Manager who will give ‘bland’ replies to the media but in private will make the changes and bollock players as he sees it.dOh Nut wrote: ↑Sun Oct 27, 2019 8:05 amNot talking about the game, more the way he handles interviews. I’m sure he’s as concerned as the rest of us at how differently we played the 2nd half from the 1st and now it’s up to him how he works on that.
It doesn’t help that our first choice strikers were unavailable to him yesterday and he seems to have made his mind up re Alabi.
He needs time to assess the current playing squad before bringing players in.
One thing I did like that during the game he wasn’t constantly berating the 4th official as some Managers do, as though he can affect decisions made by the Referee. He seems a fairly calm character but hopefully can get his points across to the players when he needs to.

Re: Carl Fletcher interview
His first two results don't help him for sure.
Having watched three of Carl Fletcher's interviews in full(one when appointed and two post match) I find him bland and irritating
He was very guarded in his responses to Dulcet Dave and it came across as if CF didn't want to be there, looking to close the interview down asap. Very early days, but not doing it for me. That's before we even get to 'the technical sh!t'
