I think the club should consider reducing pricing for this game.
Season Ticket holders will need to buy a ticket and I’m not sure that many will pay the full price to see us play a team, however good, from Four leagues below.
I may be wrong but it will be interesting to see how the club handles this match.

Football for a fiver if M&T agree may ensure 3-4k in the ground. Otherwise I fear sub 2k

Don't think we can Andy FA cup rules state minimum entry price £10 for 1st round proper.

If that's the case then a tenner would still be decent. Maldon get a third of the gate fees, right? So they might prefer for us to charge full whack given that reduced price won't attract enough additional people to make more money.

That’s a real shame. I’m looking forward to the game and hope the crowd for a Sunday morning is a decent one.

Anything more than a Tenner and I fear that many won’t bother coming but will watch on TV.
Maybe offer a Free “O-Nut” or some other gimmick to attract fans :D

It's not just up to the club.

Prices have to be agreed with the visitors and there is a minimum price set by the FA unless both clubs agree otherwise.

Also visitors get 50% of net gate receipts

Yes, I think you’re right Ron the gate money is split 3 ways, so it’s Jackpot time for Maldon.
Of course prices have to be agreed with the visitors but hopefully common sense will prevail and prices will be set at a level that doesn’t put fans off. Season tickets aren’t valid for Cup games so everyone needs to buy a ticket for a game that’s on TV.

Not correct on the first part, it is entirely up to Leyton Orient as the home club. The rules of the competition state at rule 20 (c) (ii):

"Immediately after the draw is known, the Club playing at home shall decide on the prices of admission, subject to a minimum price of £10.00 for all spectators other than concessions.

The away Club’s spectators can only be charged more than the home Club’s spectators if mutually agreed by both Clubs."

On the last part though, you are correct - 50% of net gate receipts to each club, as per rule 22 (b) (i). I think this has changed from previous years, I can find a reference to a 10% levy some years ago. I also think the 3-way split may have been a Football League play-off thing rather than the FA Cup.

Isn't it 50% of the net profit after expenses are taken ?
I seem to remember a Chairman of one of my old clubs pulling a fast one on the expenses with a moody invoice for coach travel, when it was his brother in laws company.

"BBC Overseas" - what does that mean?

Is it possible to see the match if your computer happened to believe it was overseas? Asking for a friend ;)

No, until 3rd round it's a 50:50 split and nothing to FA

I thought % went to FA until I looked it up recently.

Only if there is replay does 5% go to FA

The rule you quote supports what I said. Prices have to be agreed.

Thanks for clarifying that prices are to be "decided by the home team" and not necessarily "agreed with the visitors" as claimed.

The question was in relation to suggestion of football for a fiver which DOES have to be agreed with the visitors as it is below minimum suggested figure by the FA

Football for a fiver hadn't been raised at the point that CheshuntO made the comment that you responded to. Just that the club should consider lowering pricing, which as per A Pedant's post should be decided by the home team and should meet the minimum price criteria.
