Personally I think our summer business was good, no doubt about that in my eyes however, find the midfield enforcer and it would have been excellent, it’s still the last piece of the jigsaw we are missing.

Difficult to criticise any of those that came in - I like all of Angol, Wilkinson, Wright and Dennis (to varying degrees). A forward line of those combined with Brophy and JMD is really exciting.

But I'm not sure it was enough business. Stepping up a division, we needed to improve but we haven't - the starting 11 this season is worse than it was last season and there is no greater depth to the squad than there was either.

You've changed from a 'no way is our starting 11 weaker' to 'we've gone sideways', which is a start. I still say that we're definitely worse. But we should have been improving significantly.

Kyprianou will, given an opportunity force his way into contention for a starting place. I think he has all the attributes to become a top class midfield player I have seen him half a dozen times and he has improved with every viewing. his all round game is better than Clay or Gorman but he needs the chance to show it. I'm also hoping that Ruel Soitiriou gets an opportunity off the bench or as a starter in the Brighton Under 21 game can play as a striker or wide right and has a lot of pace.

It's difficult to get the young players into games but at some stage you have got to bite the bullet and give these guys a chance, Brendan Shabani and Shadrach Ogie are probably a year away from being ready, they should go out on loan to a conference side.

Although I haven't watched them for a while, I'm told we have some very good players in the under16 youth set up too.

I can imagine the only time we would have, Angol, Wilkinson, Wright, Dennis, Brophy and JMD on the pitch at the same time is if we are 2-0 down as we were Mansfield. It was very exciting to watch when we went for it second half.
