John Lundstram joined the ''Blades'' from Oxford Utd for a reported fee of £700,000. Since he joined Sheffield Utd, John has played over 50 games for them and played for the full game in the 1-0 win against Arsenal on Monday.

Re: Macauley Bonne
As to Bonne, what a work rate this young striker has and if he keeps knocking in the goals for Charlton, he will soon become a valuable asset for them.
They really have got a real snip for only £200,000 but as we all knew at the time of his transfer, he was worth far more to us than the £200,000 we got for him but we had little to no choice other than let him go.

Re: Macauley Bonne
Was bizarre to knock him back then and our comparative lack of goals now shows what an asset he was for us.

Re: Macauley Bonne
Difference being Bonne did the business for us whereas the others were at best mediocre. In the case of Sawyer he was brought in to replace the pacy, attack-minded Daniels but was a completely different type of player not suited to our game at the time.UpminsterO wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 5:25 pmWhat's news some on this forum said Morris / Hunt / Sawyer / and others in the past

Re: Macauley Bonne
It's not our lack of goals, Wright, Wilkinson & Angol have found the net. It's leaking goals that is the real problem. We should have killed them off in 1st half though.

Re: Macauley Bonne
Wright is a CM and still our top scorer I think?
The other two haven't found the net anywhere near as much as Bonne and Koroma. Neither will get anywhere near 20 by end of season imo.
Had one more quality striker came in it would've taken the pressure off them to be direct replacements for what was such a lethal strikeforce. The fact Fletcher put two wingers on rather than Alabi second half says a lot really.

Re: Macauley Bonne
Bonne's goal scoring is not the only thing great thing about his play, what a hard working centre forward he is ! Another bonus about him is that he rarely gets injured ! If Bonne keeps scoring around his present rate, what will his transfer value be around the end of the season ? In fact it could even happen that Charlton may with luck gain promotion, then if that happens, he will join Alzate as two recent ex Os playing in the Premier League !gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 5:29 pmDifference being Bonne did the business for us whereas the others were at best mediocre. Re: Macauley Bonne
Angol's injury & Wilko's suspension might explain that. No need to be so negative, the 1st half performance suggests we will be OK in long run.gshaw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 5:40 pmWright is a CM and still our top scorer I think?

That just shows why you need a strong squad and investment. January will be very telling for what kind of ambition this club actually has.O my gawd wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 5:51 pmAngol's injury & Wilko's suspension might explain that. Agreed out first half performance was good and I enjoyed it. 2nd half well poor, really poor.

Goals for is not the issue. Whoever gets them. The issue is goals concededgshaw wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 5:40 pmWright is a CM and still our top scorer I think?

Re: Macauley Bonne
I hope we've got a nice big sell on percentage in his contract cos at this rate he will be worth millions by the end of the season.

Re: Macauley Bonne
I was getting a transfer form signed today and the Club secretary was telling me that Taylor did some coaching at the Charlton academy where her son plays. She was saying that he receives a lot of rasicst abuse not only from the stands, but on social media as well. She went on to say that it does affect him.
Wtf is going on? I thought and hoped we’d left that stuff behind years ago, but it seems it’s alive and well still in this country, funny enough it’s not reported enough which is borne out by this article in the guardian. The FA need to get our house in order like he says in his interview, more work still needs to be done to eradicate this scourge.
