Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
Ouch.
We know about the clear handball for the first, but Happe was caught ball watching and allowed him a free fister.
Second - the guy who crossed the ball is all on his own. Ekpiteta isn't out wide - he's in the middle, so was badly positioned. And still, the cross should be cut out by someone.
Third - feel both Wright and Brill should do better. Someone running back (can't see who) could have tactically fouled the guy that brought it out at the start of the clip
Fourth - defence caught cold but just an utter balls up.

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
First goal - agreed with comments on Happe but Coulson does no better, stepping out when everyone else steps back in. There's no communication between the two of them. I don't get the sense they're playing as a partnership at all. Credit to Brill tho, does well to get up so quick for the second save and deserved better.Smendrick Feaselberg wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 3:01 pm Ouch.

Second - can't blame Marvin, that's a set piece, nowt to do with him. Clay sets himself to defend the ball in but is miles away from the bloke, should have still been closing him down. Wright is too far out from the near post to defend that position effectively. Happe does have two men to deal with but they're both to the ball before him. Really really poor all round. Brill still should have got a hand on it tho.
Third goal - Clay lets his man run off him. If Wright was a proper holding midfielder, he'd have been over to cover that. But he's not. So instead their guy has a free run at our defence.
Fourth goal - Clay stands there pointing at Gorman to come off the post and go out to their two players with the ball. Scandalous from him. He's way closer and should have got straight at them. Literally no idea what Brill thinks he's doing with that though.

Didn't realise that in amongst all the awful defending there was an astonishing miss from Alabi near the end. Should have been 4-1 for sure.

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
In that brief highlights, all I saw was horrific and feeble defending.Balls being played straight back to Argyle players.I wanted to see if what I heard Alabi’s miss was exaggerated....Well it wasn’t and I’m sure he won’t want to see that again is all I can say.

Can there be anyone left who thinks Alabi can play?

Be interesting to see Fletchers take on him and whether he acts as Justin did.

Astonishing miss it may have been but most of us at the ground saw the linesmans flag raised for offside , it wouldn't have counted if it had gone in !!Highwood Man wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:20 pm Didn't realise that in amongst all the awful defending there was an astonishing miss from Alabi near the end. The fourth goal- everyone who has ever played football or knows enough about it knows that the post man goes out to the ball if it is played short.

First time I've seen them . Blimey , that first goal was virtually punched in leading up to the goal itself . Third one I thought Brill was slow to get down and the fourth was just a bizarre load of deflections . A bad night at the office and already something for Carl to think about .

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
Agreed, it's pretty normal for near post man to go out to the ball at a corner and far post man to shuffle across to the near post. Absolutely. But when that near post man doesn't react and you're 10 yards closer marking space, you don't stand there shouting and pointing, you react and do what needs to be done.Red_Army wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 11:22 amYou've really got it in for Clay.RedO wrote: ↑Wed Oct 23, 2019 3:27 pmFirst goal - agreed with comments on Happe but Coulson does no better, stepping out when everyone else steps back in. With all due respect, that's absolute tosh. I've been one of only a handful on here that's stood up for Clay this season. But he had a hand in a couple of the goals on Tuesday.

No that's not how it works. When it goes short you come off the posts as to not play the opposition onside.RedO wrote: ↑Thu Oct 24, 2019 12:12 pmAgreed, it's pretty normal for near post man to go out to the ball at a corner and far post man to shuffle across to the near post. Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
an atrocious evening at Plymouth. They are becoming a real bogey team for us.
We are in a transitional place at this moment in time, and from time to time, these kind of results are going to occur......long as it isnt frequent.
We do need to win on Saturday, though, to keep a decent sized gap between us and the bottom 3 or 4 teams

The fact of the matter is, Clay should have gone out to the man in that instance because he was closer and spare, even if that's not what the rule book says.

Redo you do realise all these things are worked on during the week? Patterns of play? Responsibilities? Everyone knows their job and their responsibilities, you don't come off the pitch and say oh I didn't know, you'd get slaughtered for that.
Clay was telling the person who should be there to get there.

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
It looks as though Argyle didn't actually fashion a goal at all. Handball, luck, poor defending and luck again gave them four. Sometimes it just isn't your day. The two we missed (post and an Alabi special) were better build ups than any of PA's goals.

A fair point but they took their chances when they came and blew us out of the water before half time.

Re: Plymouth Argyle v Leyton Orient Brief Highlights
I was with my sister in law who's lived in Plymouth 30 odd years and was watching her first game at home park , all she had to say after the game was why did my team keep passing the ball sideways and backwards ? , and she also added that our goalie and no6 looked to old and slow for the game
